Oops, they did it again! ;)

kickass demo as usual, with clever reuse of the old effects :)
the only weak point is the music.
tcg did it better.

ehm, reuse? i guess the 3dengine was 'reused', however this wasnt running in 5 fps as in little nell, so iam impressed ;-)
and the zoomer, it has panorama jox to, perfect circle didnt, and so on..
great demo, together with the farbrausch demo the best prod. at breakpoint for sure.

a cybergraphics support and it would be perfect. :) greetings.
Really nice atmosphere, nice effects etc. The first time I didn't really like the music, the second time I saw it I did. Don't know why, but the "cheesy" synth really adds to the feeling. The flow was a bit weird, but I don't if it was good or bad. The mermaid was really cool, the logos could have been better or ditched altogether. And the ending, it was really cool.
the gods of Amy did it again :)
Some really nice bits, but a bit more disjointed than the Madwizards release was.
I also couldn't escape the notion that tbl has reached one of those ceilings again. It's getting harder and harder to improve on their trusty amiga.

a total kick ass demo.
very nice ideas, very nice modelling, very nice designs, very nice everything.
except for the fact that it was totally put to waste on that rusty old amiga.

this one was very nice; had to change my pants after the amiga-democompo was over.
Overall rules except for the fact, that it seems a little "hollow" to me. Can't explain, but it was "just" very good but not awesome
bad demo... ugly scenes
AMIGA = MAGIA!
hell yeah!
totaly awesome! Wonderfull job guys. Maybe it was MadWizards turn but they didn't manadge to bring anything new to their wonderful demo, which was exactly what TBL did.
Also worth mentioning is Louies price cermony speech, thumbs up Louie.

It looked nice but i didn't like the music.
yes, ruberduck makes nice drinks peez,
but what about that huge .dat file?
but what about that huge .dat file?
ahahaha superb! (well except the music yes..) but I don't want to complain. the most sexy scene was the one on the screenshot. =) and the endless zoom was very nice, too and a little bit improved I guess. so thumbs up for tbl who just can't fail.
tbl rules!!!
also loved the destop logos!
also loved the destop logos!
Really nice elements (art + modelling) but rather incoherent looking with its jumping around between scenes. If there was a common thread or convergence, I didn't see it during the compo. (By comparaison little nell conveyed some sort of "journey" kind of feeling)
This demo is a good mixture with a little failure - the music. why didn´t used a tcg soundtrack instead?
Absolutely great demo, TBL makes it possible :)
More of the same. Pretty cool though.
Wonderfull, wonderfull and all in all: wonderfull.
sweet to see some 68k releases! rulez.
- we haven't got the time to make a proper demo, let's throw in some scenes we have lying around, add our 'copyright' infinite zoom and enjoy fame and fortune for another year!
- yeah, let's do so!
okay, seriously, that's an okay demo, but it's just really disjointed, and the music is more like really just a 'theme' repeated over and over.
"Also worth mentioning is Louies price cermony speech, thumbs up Louie."
yeah, it's certainly worth mentioning. with a virtual thumbs down from me, though. 8}

stefan, for me personally it's more like those parts are short and the track doesn't progress, it feels like it's stumbling upon itself
steffo:
if ebm shouls sound like cheap, mid 90s rave, then yes i don't like it.
i have quite other opinion about decent electronic music.
and it didn't fitted to the intromusic (which was quite okajish, compared to the maintune).
the breaks could have been more fluid aswell, not changing the theme each time.
the music in the 'parking lot' scene was especially crappy.
but probably matter of taste...

Boring.. But great logos!
Great work, like it more than the last one, little nell.
tbl obviously tries to be better than themselves.
for me this doesn't really work out because of too much discontinuity.
the first part looks too much like a general "we can enable transparency"-pc-demo.
still, some nice scenes included, but suffering alot from 8bit colour quantization.
after all a nice demo, and louie is still the king of zoomers.

plek: I'm really sad to see you feel that way. Demoscene isn't just PC and it's great to see some people still pushing the limits of other platforms.
The demo is good, but I didn't like it as much as their previous demos. Mainly because the music had many pauses and so. Visually stunning, though.

Astounding... was really cool to see it on the big screen after Friday night when I was worried I was bothering them trying to sleep next to the coding... but that seemed to work out after all. Just a great fscking production...
(The fact that Plek doens't like it makes it better, you know.)

Very well done Rubber, Kalms and the rest! I definitly like this even more than the previous two ones. Faster 3d, animated models, better zoomer, better sync, and BETTER MUSIC. Well done Steffo!
Good to see TBL back year after year, although it would be nice if someone could beat them in the demo compo. :)
The first part is refreshing and very atmospheric. The rest, while the effects are good for Amiga 68xxx, seem like rehashes of old TBL parts. The infinite zoom, while slightly improved, has been done over and over, and the mermaid looks like they smooshed the fish/whale from Perfect Circle together with the girl from Little Nell. The music keeps stopping after each part too, what's that about? I preferred the music from TCG.
So, I'm going to have to pigface this, after thumbing up the last two from TBL. Maybe something a little more like Rain next time would be good. :)

mesa like. mesa want ze tbl'ahs at mina hooooome.
for the critique points I second phoenix. still I know what it's like to get something like that out of your amiga and most parts are very beautiful.
respekt!
respekt!
i missed the amiga demo compo, people told me afterwards that it was the total kickass demo. lucky me, i was able to see it during the price giving but honestly, i wasn't very impressed. it's a pretty good demo tho but nothing too special from tbl. i think especially the water part lacks in comparison with the one from captured dreams. and maybe i've been absent from the amigascene for too long but those hard edged 3d models and clumsy animations definitely break up the entire atmosphere for me. the demo definitely deserved winning and surely was a big bunch of work. but seeing this as a demo without all that platform related fuzz, it's a rather boring one for me.
any hope of a 16MB version? :)
i meant an amiga version that only uses 16MB of RAM, not a 16MB video :)
Boah , Destops Logos are so sexy!!!!
Good music, some nice 3d scenes, but there seems a total lack of consistency or direction, and no real hard hitting effects.
But I agree with Elend; Destop's logos were the highlight of this demo (and any other demo he has ever worked on!).
But I agree with Elend; Destop's logos were the highlight of this demo (and any other demo he has ever worked on!).
Anyway, here's a thumb up for releasing an avi version so quickly. Other Amiga/PPC groups should take note!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!
only the pauses in the music annoyed me, great logos by destop. :)
definitely a great demo, but not as cool as Little Nell
That is a major complain about TBL. Little Nell and Magia looked like Perfect Circle only with different 3D Models. Whilst Little Nell improved upon Perfect Circle, Magia is not really better than Little Nell. And we now have the Roto Zoomer since CAPTURED DREAMS (!) C'mon guys, you can be more innovative! Next demo must be a killer, another Little Nell / Magia Clone won't work this time, I'm afraid..
the demo is not the best...but it still rules!
-
plek: impressive statement...only lamers disrespect other platforms...
-
spengler: your average rating for demos is below zero...not just complaining...doing better!

raven: yes, and we all know amiga and c-64 sceners have nothing but praise for the pc
Yes.
another tbl demo where the scenes dont fit together, and i didnt like the music. i think steffo has done better tunes before. still there are a few scenes that i really liked and the panning zoom effect is beautiful
dairos/raven: both of you don't seem very realistic on this. your narrow-minded attitude might be inherent to the demoscene, but it just doesn't make that much sense. (on the other hand, why am i defending this point in front of a few demosceners..). you'll find out about it some day.
sagacity: word.
sir garbagetruck: i'd suggest you get yourself a life too, twenty-something ugly fat deprived-from-skill idiot. what demos have you made again?
haha :)

make that deprived-of or precluded-from :)
Even if I like Perfect Circle and Little Nell more, I still feel like thumbing this up..
pse.. i don't like the soundtrack, good scenes.. but.. isn't a GREAT demo.. nah..
actually, talking about the soundtrack, I like the first part. (the one with the portamentos..) nostalgia
I don`t care what anyone else has said about this. It`s a fantastic release.. which I feel the need to watch again and again :)
ha! im no ebm-fan but actually i really like the music (and the demo)
steffo är jättefin
steffo är jättefin
Hmm...difficult to judge. Demo divided into 2 parts, from which i like the first part most. TBL use the proven concept for winning a demo competition. Ofcourse the visuals, the code and the music is still great but my enthusiasm for TBL somehow diminished after RAIN, when they started doing 3D demos (which i don't like in general).
Still, i do like it, more so than Little Nell. Great to see Destop and Blaizer back after a long time!
But please next time, a demo in the style of Rain :)
Oh and it lacked flow and a general theme, it was more like 10 scenes pasted together.
And i did like the music from Steffo ;)

Wasn't much for the transparency bits at the start, and apart ffrom the zoomer (rules) nothing really new. Design however was good (but inconsistent), logos were nice, overall gets a rulez (but the mawi demo was better imo)
Oh yeah, and i liked the music still despite the cutting
yesyes goodgood ... better than little nell and perfect circle
very nice.. the intro is the best part!!... i also like the part with the decepticons logo!
maybe I'm becoming spoiled when it comes to tbl demos, but I was quite disappointed by this one. Although the effects are as good as usual, magia doesn't seem to have that sense of overall design and good feeling. Atleast it didn't provide any magic for me. I loved the destop logos by the way.
the logos were very cool!
the mermaids appearance is great!
nevertheless, i didn't enjoy this demo half as much as expected, probably because of all those breaks. a rulez for the technical side.

boring boring boring! still the same scheme - zoomer, slideshow of static pictures, animal or woman swirling on the screen and finally some populistic words. i respect destop for the logos but i can't read two of them ;)
tbl lost it's magia when offa, eq and azzazel drop their activities.
WE WANT SOMETHING NEW, please!

Kalms rapes as always :)
Alot of bull about the music, Steffo has made better music and TBL has made more popular demos. But what's the big deal? I enjoyed this production anyway...
Såg Steffo Asm'02 och han var iallafall fin-klädd :-)

azzaro: haha, i'm starting to like you guys in madwizards, you are like minimalanimal, but on amiga =)
Sadly it did not work on my Amiga as again my miggy doesen't have enough ram inside. But the avi version really kicked arse! Okay, again we have here a real typical piece of black lotus art and it gets a bit boring with the time as new ideas are missing. But else I still enjoyed to watch it pretty much - especially the end was fantastic! Don't stop going on that road guys ,and implement some new ideas & effects next time - then really nothing could get wrong!!
You've shown pretty many people what a fucking outdated chipset still can offer nowadays!! You see, not only the hardware counts when it comes to demos - it is more the other way round.

i forced a single tear out of my left eye while watching it on the big screen.
a true masterpiece ;)
a true masterpiece ;)
it forced more than one tear out of my eye -such a waste of modelling talent ...wasted on the limitations of the platform! </flamebait>
(seriously, wouldn't you agree that the mermaid scene would pack more punch if the girl didn't contain as little polys as your average quake 1 model?)

(darn, there should've been one of those witty html-esque sarcasm tags in it -oh well, you get the idea)
kickass! i was speechless
The music does sound much like the first track on Colony 5's latest cd. Inspiration or a rip-off, Steffo? Nice anyway...
todi!tlu : huh? the mp3 you pasted is -1% the same ?
Jepp, maybe. I dont have a musical-ear, i could be wrong But check this, ok, ill stop bugging now :)
start is boring but infinite zoom saves it
other scenes are good with strange design and pauses

rocks
Tempting to give a pigface for this one cause its really little new here from what we saw in "little nell". But still a beautifull demo on impressingly outdated hardware
Very nice demo, like some people already said: the demoscene isn't just about PC.
HUGE soundtrack, fantastic demo
very nice demo, but I don't like the music at all and the design isn't that solid
I've just watched the video, live at breakpoint it was more impressive.
yes, prods like these make compos so enjoyable.
Owns
Extremely cool. Especially the infinite zoom..
yummy.
It's too cut-up, lacking in design compared to other recent TBL demos. The effects are not bad, but I expect more from TBL (which they happily provided in Silkcut). Is ok.
good demo
crap.
Amazing scenes and nice sound. The cuts are a bit annoying though. Still very good!
not the best one of tbl, but still good
liked the first part, didnt like the music
...
liked each part of the demo and liked each note of the music.
btw, megatron sucks but the decepticons logo rulez! :D
btw, megatron sucks but the decepticons logo rulez! :D
Outstanding demo.
..But the soundtrack! 10/10, overall maybe 9/10
Once again TBL is repeating itself.... without getting boring! :)
Best demo for amiga, best demo from TBL, very hard work... nice!!!
amigaaaa! hehe!
Nice concept and cool gfx.
Blaizer / TBL rocks the sound!
Can't download video:( fix please!
I'm totally stunned - as usual! Great job guys.
Very nice stuff as usual
The zoomer is pretty sweet, but needs more design :)
tbl manages to kick ass again and again
It sets my heart on fire!
mAgia
Bits and pieces...
OMG never voted for this :O
It's really what the name says.
It's really what the name says.
truly is amiga!
Very impressive ! Thanks thanks thanks !
It's just great!
Loved the music and the logos.
starts boring but then becomes a killer. wicked!
not very interesting
yezz! even if i like effect-shows the more,i have to say this impresses heavily!
especially love the zoomer...superb!

PS! The demoscene.tv-capture is seriously fucked.. :(

Amazing demo!
stunning
Massive.
Magicaly
Kalms: I wish you a productive 2010 for you! a new tbl demo perhaps? :)
Impressive.
Yes
Simply superb
Wooooha
AMIGA!!!!!
Really great! One of my favourite!
Magia Amigi.
Music kinda sucks here but visually this is top-notch, lovely animations.
Massive visuals, but the music is somehow strange.. can't put the finger on what disturbs me but well. Anyways, it's definitely worth a thumb!
winning.
Cool :)
Mega !!!
Very Impressive !!!

wow
love it! the music rules!
I liked id, but not the whole thing. Also some reused objects.
Nice 060 3D.
Mostly svingrüm.
nice
inconsistent scenes though
inconsistent scenes though
I think the music was the best part of the demo. Too bad it was way too short
Had some nice visual effects and scenes, but overall rather shoddily put together imo. Music didn't work for me at all.
The zoomer is really excellent in this one. Also those logos are sweet!
Beautiful!
Really nice TBL Amiga demo and the girl that feature in a lot of TBL Amiga demos is a mermaid in this one
Cool landscapes and scenes
