feels too empty. very traditional traction style, lots of lines and particles... some beatiful moments.
looks like a collection of transition parts.
didn't quite make it over the line for me.. it built up this nice feeling and then it all ended to fast.. it felt sometimes that the scenes looked somewhat too much opengl and that took away some of the overall mood.. but never the less it was a really nice 64k. maybe some glitches in the rendering or something would've been in place.. anyway. thumbs up!
Yes, there is something missing but I liked it as it is.
but it's ambient enough
Traction <3
Uhm... this didn't do anything for me...
For the one person who cares, this ran fine under wine.
Nothing special. Nice clean curves and whatnot. The ribbony tunnel thing looked nice. That's about it.

cool atmosphere, it does feel kind of empty, but it kinda fits. just the thing i needed to watch right now.

Very cool Kosmisch atmospheric soundtrack
Reminds me of Bits Salad 2 with the lighted wireframe and grid paterns.
Nice 1

Preacher, you've done better bro :)

Considering the fact that Linux and OSX ports are ready-made, I would love to know who that would be :)
pretty dull, has some nice moments here and there though
ZX Spectrum users shifter. go figure.
no sry
great effect.
i don't liked music.
however, overall was good.

eh, this was boooring.
supernice!
but sound doesn't help ;)

this one was ok, a bit boring though but thumbs up.
Embarrassing.
linux version has broken archive???
$ tar -xvzf its_full_of_stars_linux.tar.gz
gzip: stdin: not in gzip format
i tried it with gzip, bzip2, unzip, unrar and
even arj :) so i think this archive is broken...
fix it, ASAP! :-)

Very boring ...
A lot LESS boring than the average flashy flyby. Nothing we haven't seen before, but I still like those lines. And you didn't even rip the music this time :) .. The only thing I didn't like were those ugly orange texts.
With a very different music I think I would have loved this.
funkyou78: my fault sorry... it's accidently a .tar archieve i'll fix it :)
file(1) also tells efficiently information about the file type if it seems not to be what the ending says
like it a lot. tunnel <3
yeah!!
waffle: thx for advice
...and a thumb up for the unreal mood (i like it)
and for porting it to a real os :)

Getting closer to that h+ feel. Really liked it, except for that very last scene with the text, that didn't fit the feel somehow.
Also, mac port has wrong permissions.. do: chmod 755 stars; ./stars in the terminal to run it.

great potential but a bit too boring. i enjoyed the scene when the sound made the lines go blue very much!
for the code its a thumb up, but speed, sound, and exitment is not good..
Yes!
i like the "landscape in lines" and the tunnel, a bit empty and sometimes boring but thats nice enough.
A thumb up for releasing the sources.
I was in two minds. Tunnel I love. City scape (which isnt) made me think. Glow mode, text doesnt fit on my screen. It runs too slow for me too. Hated music and it didnt fit. Empty. I watched it 4 times before voting. I was about to piggie then, I noticed, you published the source. That swung it ...
good
good music and feeling!! Good prod traction!
boring! :(
extremely!
boring.

reeeally boring, simple and empty. sorry. (nasty soundtrack too.)
Well, for me this thing would only have worked if the things were connected together. There are often about 2-5 objects around, completely isolated, blending in and out. And the transitions are in a way that you can count 1st scene, 2nd scene, 3rd scene...
If it was one huge flobuwak of lines, morphing from one effect to the other with a smooth "flow", this would have been great for me. But the way it is, it's just boring. It ain't bad, though. Piggy.

for some reason two words come to mind: "illbient" and "dumbient".
sound isn't good but it FITS well imho
also I've enjoyed the trip
also I've enjoyed the trip
multiplatform
Mac OS X, run from Terminal: "Permission denied"
rubbish
Manwe: geez, what about chmod +x? :)
Nice concept and atmosphere. It's a bit boring, but at least has OSX and Linux ports! =)
the intro has some great scenes (spiral, tunnel), but sadly it was way to long, and the noise was terrible
I like it a lot... I like the weird atmosphere the "sound" creates.. and visually I think it's great. Guess I'm a sucker for those lines and dots things :)
Not my kind of demo really, but not bad either, some nice scenes in there. Thumb for releasing the source.
RESPECT
It is rather simple, but surprisingly, it works. The music helps alot to set the mood
Oh, I watched the Linux version btw, on a Debian x86-64 system using a 32bit compatibility chroot. For anyone who cares about such mundane things...
For the music. I can see the point of the graphics after a few minutes, maybe with less filtering it would be much better.
slow and pretty
it is true that it is boring, but in return it looks very well
Some parts look really pretty, some other parts do less. But I like it.
perfect intro to watch just before going to bed. :)
Some m'kay fxs, some other really nice fxs (i.e. the tunnels, expecially the last).
Not quite my style, but somehow I liked the mood at the compo, and linux port is a nice bonus. Thumbs up.
Hmm. Music and pace somehow reminded me of Chimera. I think it's a bit chimerish but with more stuff in it. Lol! Was really hooked by the feeling/atmosphere in the same way like the 5th time I watched Chimera again to understand what's the fuzz about ;)
quite minimal, but in a good way. nice flow..
i'm a sucker for open gl points
gosh! a borg's dream ... :)
respect!
respect!
i like the subtle visuals even if some scenes are a bit empty. the sound is not bad aswell but somehow there is no connection between the things i see and the things i hear. more coordination next time..
Nice. Good soundscape (that's not music), that fortunately didnt turn into a crap music.
Nice visuals but it is much too boring. The sound, although nice, doesn't fit at all. The tunnels are very cool! :)
beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Waffle, thanks, "chmod +x *" solves the problem, but why not to compile an intro as normal Mac OS X application?.. Anyway, intro is good!
Nice intro. The soundtrack forms a great mood - but is too slow, I get bored halfway through the intro. But still deserves thumbs up! A little faster pace next time would be nice!
100% atmosphere
instant meditation! topnotch visuals. appreciated the soundscape that refuses the common expectation of music. i wish the would be more experiments with sound and language. who says an intro/demo has to be boomboomboom?
Manwe: just wtf is a normal Mac OS X application?
Both boring and stylish.....must have been quite dull on the big screen?
beautiful and beautiful.
great effect code and cool music.
(I think to chimera style music.)
anyway, great intro.

anyway, great intro.
Mesmerizing, minimalistic. Resembles the style that kosmoplovci and others use so effectively but isn't quite so psychotic, instead finds a middle ground between those and the reduced style first seen during the late 90's. Traction seems to get better and better. :)
To top it all off it comes on multiple platforms, with the source included.

The style is super clean and cool, and fits with the music. It's too slow to be really exciting, but still pleasant to watch.
Visually neat. I didn't like the audio though.
booring and i dont like the audio.. but nice effects and the cool glow mode saves it.
Nice 64k. Authours should not use zip for OS X though as the +x bit is lost, better use tar.
This is actually the first Traction prod that I had trouble viewing completely. The music is just so fucking annoying, same loop all the way through and the whole thing is just too long. You guys should have tuned it more and release it later.
thumbs up for the source, i'm still studying jsyk :D
holy fuck this is fucking brilliant!
Very cool, cheek, relaxed, chill and it goes in the Traction era! Good work guys, more of this mathematic line-twisting geomedical stuff.
Very impressed with the spirit of this demo; tration-esque and minimal. Good job in making 64k. Very well done indeed.
I quite enqoyed the visual aspect of this but the backround, while initially giving a great atmosphere, gets repetitive and very annoying about half way through. Mayhaps some development with the sound to go with what one is seeing while keeping the aatmosphere could make this one quite amazing
I like the ambient atmosphere of this, music fits right in with it too.
nice tit... eh fractals
fucking brilliant imo
oh, wow. simply great for me.
great atmosphere!
quite nice, actually. could chop off some of the boring parts, though...
kinda kosmoplovci-ish, but not as atmospheric.
Traction <3
Very ok.
boring, really not my cup of tea
Nice trip.
Love the visuals, hate the audio.
Ambient paradoxotis at its best! Didn't like the jagged circles, though...
Good demo, not as good as Fiat Homo in my opinion. Music sounds a bit like old arcade machine sound effects!
The blue tunnel was sweet.

I don't know... Piggy for now.
Forgot the thumb :)
Beautiful!
I feel it's a demo were you have to be in the mood to let the demo grab you into it's gravitational field and suck you in. At first I felt alienated by the music, and it kept me at distance - but then after the first "ding" on my left ear - I started to let go. It's a slow pace it's traveling at, but a welcome change to DnB demos full of things that want your attention.
For some people the traveling ending scene of 2001 is just a bunch of video clips taken from an airplane showing earth in the wrong colours, for some they're other worlds, maybe worlds that have been forgotten, maybe they're really huge planets full of ships ready to die as in the book.
Surely not easy to digest, but on a Sunday with a cold beer and a warm open mind it's easy to enjoy.
Bet the glow mode looked better on a CRT, though the blue tunnel unveils a black planet in this mode (if you feel like it).

mesmerizing
Seems to require PPC Mac?
Code:
Bad CPU type in executable
Quite sparse and therefore it feels unfinished. Still, it is atmospheric and the music didn't really sound like a 64k tune.
This production is also availlable for OpenPandora Handheld, recompiled by me.
