Great stuff from fairlight, really nice style, good design, good code, and a really good tune (with perhaps the best sounding audio i've heard in a 64k too :)
and its another ribbon demo, remember to enable antialiasing

Really cool 64k, funky sound, phat design and it runs very well on my 3 years old geforce III gfx card.
Damn, I want SWVP fallbacks, at least until my company gives me a new gfx card ;)

The colour scheme was superb and I liked the abstract models, but I agree with Okkie about the stopping objects. It looked like my hard drive was paging or I was low on ram or something.
More importantly, PLEASE QUIT WITH THOSE BARGAIN BASEMENT CHEAPO TEXT OVERLAYS! Just like "We Cell" this intro had quite a classy style but the overlays made it look so tatty.

Radiosity aside, I don't think this was particularly entertaining. The ribbons were nice but the other scenes were totally forgettable, and I didn't like the contrast between the background and the logos. Perhaps I was just expecting better after waiting for the long precalculation, but..
must admit that the text overlays where very cheap looking :)

Besides from that: after watching it on a workmate's PC i must say this rocks. Nice fast ambient occlusion lighting algo. Music was cool, overlay texts were a bit too wannabe-orange for me tho. Have to second Shane in this regard.

There are some laptop cards that doesnt support hw vertexprocessing afaik, but i never experienced that they havent implemented a wrapper for the hw pipe->sw pipe in their d3d drivers?

hum, Matt, 4x AA doesnt seem to work on my Radeon.. yes, i am a good betatester i just forgot to try this, eheheheh :P
smash: eg. the Intel ExtremeGraphics 915 (which you'll find on every second mobo in the near future, so it will be not too uncommon) which is in my (Intel sponsored ;) work PC at the moment.
The thing fully supports PS2.0 and is somewhere between a GFFX5200 and 5600 speedwise, but it has no vertex pipeline at all. D3D can only be used in software vertex processing mode (which doesn't prohibit using pixel shaders at all, no "emulation" necessary).
The only differences I encountered were that you had to specify software vertexprocessing, and most importantly fill out those "StartIndex" and "VertexCount" fields of DrawIndexedPrimitive() correctly - otherwise every call will transform the whole vertex buffer instead of the small piece that you're actually using... which is dead slow.

Consistent design and brilliant audio. The precalc is a bit boring (make a "save data" version, so i can wait less after the first look) and the action a bit static, but it sure is one of the best releases of this year so far.
Bringing old 1.5-2 dimensional effects to 3 dimensions (on a 2d-screen) is soooo leet. :)

The screenshot raised my expectations pretty high, but upon watching the intro I was let down. I thought the "ribbon" would flow around, kinda like in rythmic gymnastics, but instead it just draws itself onto the screen.

just as a note, i think the "4x AA" actually refers to the level of filtering, so its probably 16x in reality. Try 2 or 3 unless you have a really high end card.

The FSAA is buggy here (on a Radeon 9800xt), but when forcing it in the Catalyst driver, it works, and looks great!! :)

precalc was a bit long but it sure was worth the waiting. Nice lighting algo, definitely worth to watch.
Not a milestone for me, but I like the fresh look, especially the shading. No glow, no highlight, no blur, just diffuse materials with nice shades. I like it a lot!
I found it to be incredibly attractive and I quite liked the music. FLT is as FLT does. ;-)

Quite good. Except for the - yeah you guessed it - text overlays... which in my opinion don't fit at all into the 'freshy' cartoonish theme.

Well... I've seen better ones. FLT certainly has a great sense of oldschool, but that doesn't work here. It gets a bit monotonic to the end, however, it's still good.

Nice atmosphere and good looking 3d stuff. Even though it's not my piece of cake, this one is still better than most 64k intros released in 2004. However, I don't dig the music and those logos are really ugly :)
