Beautifull demo! really how can they improve even more next time? Good job plastic! Respects!! Buzka ;-)
The new generation of demos is here! I'm breathless!
It has a really amazing, unsettling atmosphere and the scenes look almost like living entities. Creepy shit!
As soon as I can afford it a card upgrade is definitely in order.

video.NSV ? What player or codec can playthis ? Is this a video version ?
it is NullSoft Video iirc. use winamp.
/me still waiting for binaries to be released

Trauma Zero: NSV - null soft video. You shall use winamp.
The video lacks in quality so I better say something more constuctive after I seen the "real" thing. :)

Definetely a nice thing graphically, but I just CANT thumb this one up... I mean, it looks great, it sounds great, but... It's just too damn unimaginative, there's no point, the shaders we already saw in 195/95, the rest is almost the same. I wish it would make a bit more of a sense. :/
Really an impressive piece of work with even better visuals than in 195/95. The music is ok, but far away from the brilliant soundtrack of the BP release. I would have prefered something new and more original in this demo, so it's just a clone of 195/95 for me. I'm still impressed, but not blown away like I was after watching their previous demo.
the video seemed broken.. only 4min30sec of stuff...
while their previous demo was in my opinion more like a static object-show, this has fantastic motion and flow.
colors and effects also work wonderful.
i just dislike is that spheres+cubes scene, which i think is rather pointless.
all in all this is really great stuff!

all in all this is really great stuff!
Now that's really something. I love this one much more than the Breakpoint'05 release from plastic. Very great. Awesome.
A lot of new new-school blockbuster attitude and slickness.
I have only see that video, but what I saw was best from plastic this far. +Same that hellfire said expect that dislike thing.
Anyone will release the 64kb version of this demo soon? (ofcourse when the source is available ;-)
woah!
I really liked some of the scenes here.
beautiful :D
Killer thingie!
saw the video (is it broken? :-/). good design and very well done motion as always and fitting music. i really liked it for what i've seen
Oh fuck! It was good! So what? Fukkings to Pastic anywayz!!!!
some really nice stuff in there
Goood.
boring :*(
Excellent
impressive! very nice and good work
it´s fluid, organic, impressive work!! rulez"!"
Great great stuff ... amazing soundtrack!
very pretty, but please - some CONSISTENSY! the music was terrible and didn't fit the demo at all - and how about trying to tie the parts together a little?
A story of a marshmallow-girl covered with honey and attacked by a bunch of flying spheres... Great!
what a great show! the colors, objects, camera work and of course the excellent music create a really stunning atmosphere. the intro/outro scene is awesome!
Some EXCELENT scenes, like the massive-metaball scene and the spheres that follow. Lacks some consistency and flow/transitions, but otherwise completely awesome! Thank you
It's great! No doubt! ...but the video version here is not exactly the same as the version they showed at the party.. the syncing to the music was different... so I guess this is not the final... and NSV sucks ;)
The demo is boring but the scenes are very beautiful and the music fits perfectly to the demo.
Every plastic demo looks like the previous one.
Every plastic demo looks like the previous one.
daumen hoch!
could use transitions, some scenes are weak (especially this black "smoke" thing), but other scenes simply rock the house.
great work and a vast improvement over your bp demo!

marble madness
Gosh, this one rocks... more interesting than the breakpoint release, can't wait to see it in realtime. The nsv sucks major.
"Creepy" describes it best. I guess if it would had been a little bit less impressive, the audience would have freaked out, but so they were scared like shit. The applause was kept for the price-giving screening.
Personally I am scared too. It's nice to make 3rd places in compos with plastic-releases, but I wonder where the demo-scenes is going from here.
Bonzaj is the most frightening and lovable person I meet in the scene and I don't see any another active group (except asd) reaching this level of code and design.
I for my part just can't invest this amount of time and effort put into productions like this or "Fingers on my skin". Even with unlimited resource, I doubt I could ever reach this grade.
For me this is the best production of 2005 so far. And it was released at evoke. Wow ;-)

yes, bonzaj&co. i'm so happy that you did it! and even more at our party. hope you had a nice stay.
this production is much more polished and coherent than the breakpoint demo imho. extremely nice atmosphere.
big fuckings to magic/nah for adding the video version only. can't you just wait? you really act like a child.

BINARIES PLZ!!!
ok, what's so childish about uploading a video?
i guess it's simply a matter of video quality. . would it matter if we had waited a couple of days until bonzaj came back home and released a proper, full quality version? now lots of people saw the video and i bet some of them won't launch the exe version coz they've already seen the .nsv, and - for instance - they might have not liked the sync or weird colors, as blz has suggested some lines above. bang.
Holy Pixels, let it never stop!
seriously, the video was cutoff before it "properly" ended.
plastic just keeps getting better and better...

Dipswitch: actually it was loaderror who put the link on first! See:

And it was ment to do good. People (who) couldnt wait for the windows version so
excuse me if I stept on your toes!

best plastic release so far.
i would think plastic are doing some sort of "story" with their demo. same style and almost same stuff in different scenarios. though their demo look so lovely, i wish for something new for the next release. again, a thumb up that i couldn't send
impressive indeed.. and thanks for that high quality video :)
now that i saw the real deal, i'm not afraid to give a thumb up. a zreszta, pogadamy jak znajdziesz chwile, maaan ;)
no exe...
Some parts are really good, but others are way below. The music is not a the level of the visuals. I couldn't help thinking to Iconoclast. I miss some transitions u__u
ok, now i saw the demo, some nice 3d-work, but that's really not my cup of tea :)
i didn't like the soundtrack, unlike the one in tour breakpoint demo, which was astounding!

Insane! Only minus is that it is a bit incoherent.
Why again do poeple still CODE demos? Nowadays every second demo can only be watched as avi.

this is one damn awesome demo, but i hold my thumb until i get an exe.
whoa, nice wild demo :)
no executable==no thumb :)
give us the real demo asap ! :)))

ok. just kidding. This is fucking good ! well done !
natural born killer !
Really nice :nice graphics good music super code .

in a way it's a bit like a tbl demo - some objects in the foreground, then a bloody big skybox in the background.
i really like the first scene. but some of the others, while being pretty, do leave me a bit cold. maybe it's because it's really rather standard stuff (shaders/code techniques are standard and well publicised in various sdks, the objects bare more than a little resemblence to previous plastic prods (.. and the metaballs), and im SURE some of those lightprobes are familiar.. thanks mr devebec), although with fine selected colours and good composition.
the biggest suprise actually is that it still looks impressive and different. i really expected by now since bp this year or symphony last year that everyone and his dog in the scene would have implemented this kind of lighting+shading, and we'd be flooded with it. however, as it stands, apart from rgba (and a nod to it from loonies), nobody else seems to have done it, which is a mystery to me. but good news for plastic. =)

Very beautiful
If these are standard techniques well publicised in several sdks then all you other people had better start using them as soon as possible because they look a hundred times better than anything else I'm seeing on the scene today! Superb stuff!! All hail the polish warriors!
who cares about nvidia version ? :D
the first plastic-prod I've REALLY enjoyed.
Totalne złoo :)
(for english-oriented sceners: zło = very evil, kicked ass hard or the first letters of polish currency "zlotys").
It's so artistic, especially trees and violin part (I love the synchro) and really shows the beauty of mathematics (aka world inside our minds).

cool demo, but where is the executable?
nice wild :)
guys, start making your own textures.
using the debevec texture pack again is a huge slap in the face for all the aritsts who spend a lot hof time making their textures themselves. and don't even dare to think about bringing the old stupid "those textures are perfect why not use them argument"
someone could say
"teapots and buddhas are good models, why not use them?"
or why not take the de espona model collection as well. no, call me old-fashioned, but making a demo in my view is more than put-a-model-in-the-middle-of-the-screen-and-download-a-cube.env-map-for-background-and-reflectionmap-form-the-internet.
for everyone else, who does not know what i'm talking about:
http://www.debevec.org/Probes/
( yes there was no cathedrale in the back of the scene where the statue was holding the hands to its face, it was all st.pauls cathedral envmap from debevec.org )

I have to agree with abductee.
didn't like it. in my opinion, the composition was a chaotic, incomplete 3d flyby. the scenes had no relation to each other. plastic gave a shit on framerate. basically it looks like good model work and the ability to follow gl extension tutorials.
i also second abductee, who pointed this already out for the last plastic production.
the music wasnt bad, but i dont know how much in this production was self-made.

definitely ownz. moreover it was cool to drink a beer with you guys :) thanks again for the greetings :)
After watching the video.
BINARIESSSSSSSSS!!!
BINARIESSSSSSSSS!!!
bonzaj: That's all correct and well, but it wouldn't have been too hard to simply CREDIT debevec.
This way people would have known before voting that parts of the prod were taken from public sources.
And if some other group releases a demo with self-generated HDRI cubemaps, people still are able to say "wow" etc yaddayadda.
It all boils down to a discussion we've already seen 1000000000 times on pouet: If you use third party work in your prod, credit the third party.

well,

2. instead of downloading you could expolre the site. all you need is a silver sphere from the xmas-tree and a normal camera wich can handle different exposure times and use hdrshop to generate the image.
it is called:
"how to create a high-dynamic range image by combining differently exposed images taken with a _standard_ camera. "
so no money needed. it even is possiblie with my old russian camera from gdr-days.
tune your browser to:
http://projects.ict.usc.edu/graphics/HDRShop/tutorial/tutorial3.htm
all the transformations from sphere to cube can be done in hdrshop.
there is also a tutorial called "getting rid of the photographer" somwhere on the net, since you seem to have problems using the a browser, finding this tutorials is a good exercise for you ;)
to your point 5:
learn how to do links with bbcode correctly or let it be.

bonzaj: thx. And for the next demo, please consider doing it directly in the demo credits if you use 3rd party stuff. This probably will save you the negative feedback you now are getting.
yeah, also remember to credit microsoft each time you use d3dx or the windows fonts, and remember to give the adobe-guys code-credits for all those filters they did, and the brushes you used. i guess discreet, alias or softimage should be credited aswell.
get a fucking grip, people. this kind of stuff happens all the time to one degree or another. it's just fuckin' lighprobes. i didn't see sony crediting debevec.org in their ps3-launch, or peter pike sloan either for that sake. the light probes are basicly in the public domain - all you have to do to use them, is to let them know.
light probes are fuckin' hard and expensive to create, and the fact that you can get some good quality ones for free isn't a reason not to use them. atleast not when practically all musicians use sample-pack, all graphicians use 3rd party brushes and fonts, all coders use some libraries. it's all just tools to make our lives easier. deal with it.

the envmaps have been a major feature in plastic productions and are the primary reason for the high vote count.
DEMO POPE:
as you can read in my prev. statement, it _is_ very easy to create the maps.
secondly i consider it a difference weather you _use_ a tool like photoshop/maya/max to create someting new or just take something frome somewhre else ans use it "as is".

oh, it's very EASY? i see, show me some you've made, and if they are even a percentage of the quality of the of debevec's, i'll buy you a crate of beer. hell, i'll buy you two. as for the message of the REST of my post (the part you completely ignored), i'll repeat it. it's just a fuckin' lightprobe. woohoo, go arrest the rest of the scene for borrowing envmaps, samples or anything else that is only a fraction of a production.
actually, not using hdri-rendering and light-probes is just plain silly, and i'd like to hereby apollogize for all the demos i released without.
fuck the exe, here's the thumb alone for pulling the cart.
fuck the exe, here's the thumb alone for pulling the cart.
fractals sync is my favorite. only if they were credited.
Demo pope: In this case it's not "just a fuckin' lightprobe", it is actually the thing that's shown on >50% of the screen all the time and an integral part of that scene. Or do you also listen to the soundtrack of Hyperventilation and say "come on, it's just one fucking voice sample"?
There IS a difference between using a Windows font and using third party graphics/music in a prominent way, you know.
I'm with scamp here - if you use third party stuff to such an extent, at least give proper credits. But despite being a total "use your own stuff" nazi I won't thumb this demo down because I actually frickin' like it ;)

kb_: still, a light probe is a measure more than an artistic work. and you may call me a lamer or whatever you want, but if it helps you make better demos, use it damnit! the rendering is THAT much better.
im with kusma. just frikkin' look at all the 'google-image'-graphics (eg. David Hasselhoff's face) that appear in demos too.. this is just nitpicking..
xeNusion: ( i'll answer in englich tho )
okok, xenusion
i'll take the "start making your own textures" part back. i regret even it honestly. but since there is no binary version of a compo winner available i can onlky base my judgements on the impression the demo left in the compo and the screenshoot i see here on pouet.net (wich i used for the vergleich.jpg). but: i shall turn it into a "creit other ppls textures if you use them". i still think that making the audience belive that "this is a 100% plastic demo" when parts wich make a huge visual impact(lighting/look and feel of a scene) are not. if anything, it puts your( very good i might add) work into a wrong context, making it less worth, wich is a shame.
secondly i was not the one who started posting the "s*** my d*** b****" as message to sth else.
to make it clear once and again:
xenusion this is not about your work.

anyway, i've updated the links with quality videoversions. and on the discussions i'm with kusma. stop the whining.

*translating raging krautspeak ...poorly*
Wait, wait, are you meaning to tell us that this was used in this demo, and bonzaj *still* needs contact info of a scener that can create HDRI maps for him?

hehe.
you funny little trolls :)
i don't want to kow how many people ripped the envmap from this demo
http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=1326
without given proper credits to whoever originally created it...
and it feels rather pointless to me to flame about missing credits in a production which isn't even released yet.
and, abductee, if you can create light-probes with a christmas-ball please do so and don't annoy others :)

great work
oh well i guess it's worth a thumb because, well, it's cool, but... i still dont like it :(
Very nice in my eyes, even if some parts are "borrowed" from others. ;)
Bonzaj sie wkurwi, maaan...
I was really worried that I'd have to thumb this down for being great but inconsistent. But its actually more consistent than I'd hoped for even.
Obviously great quality rendering, some great design too, nice ideas, modelling, tune was good for me too. Great work guys!
Now, spend a load more time planning the next one, give it a good theme, keep a consistent flow throughout, and you'll be in line for a really great demo.

About the hdri probes stuff, you can make good hdri cubemaps from a scene within max for the next one ;)

ATI demo
Excellent demo, very climatical production. High level realization and care about details. Congratulations! :)
well i agree with hellfire.
To abductee : http://abductee.untergrund.net/vergleich.jpg : don't you have naything more interesting to do ? The result is far from being only a cube map ... a lot of work was made to make this look nice... you d better focus on the final result instead of complaining abou the material used.
To bonzaj : I disagree with you : cube maps can be done using 3ds MAX as R3d said : but it takes time ... but No pain, no glory :)

I agree with 216.
for using "modern" technology in demo. code is more important than gfx - 4KB rulez! :)
fuckings to stockholm syndrome!
coding: a rules cos of the complex tridis, great bumping, fractal trees.
design: the music was way too bombastic and kitsch for my tastes.. even i have nothing against dark ambient/tribal/soundscape stuff. ripping textures is not nice and (neo-)classical sculptures don't have pony tails.

Not my kind of demo
nice, but where's the real thing (executable)?
I feel like thumbing this one up on pure principle just because of all the stupid postings here, but I will actually do because it's a damn good demo.
binaries available! finally!
the effects alone make this a great demo. i really like this genre of soundtracks, and xenusion is the nextgen visualize.
some parts are a bit too heavy for my radeon mobility 9700, but this sure is one MAJOR demo. thanks a lot!
shit happens (;
Hmpf.. does not work for unknown reasons with my Radeon9600. I guess it takes longer to figure out the driver trouble than it takes to download the video.
this shit rocks
Most scenes run terribly slow on my config, even at 800x600:
AMD64 3200+
2GB RAM
Geforce 6600GT with 77.72 Forceware drivers

good work!
Massive prod, congrats for the zik and for the scenes !
ATI Radeon 9700 Mobility here too... :|
Waiting to see it on a more powerful config to watch it at full frame rate :)

Far from running "smooth as butter" on my X800 Pro w/ AthlonXP 3200+ and 1 gig dual channel DDR400. Oh well, it still looks nice. (I dig the rendering features.) But still, the BP05 demo seemed to have a bit more to look at.
some scenes are really great, but others just bored me. good to see paul devebecs name in the loader, now (guess he wasnt there before).
Now that I've seen the exe, a time for thumbing :)
+ Shaders
+ HDRI (hi Debevec :))
+ Builds up tension properly near the demo end
+ Intro/outro fractal tree
+ Music is good for me
- Hey, it's slow! I just don't see why it should run 20fps on gf6800gt at 640x480. Maybe you guys aren't achieving proper parallelization (i.e. have lots of stalls on the gpu)? Try interleaving rendertargets more efficiently or something...
- It looks like previous plastic demos, only incrementally better. It's ok for now, but after couple more it can get boring...
- No overall storyline/coherence/whatever. Essentially just a bunch of (good looking tho) scenes thrown together.
- No "real environment" in most (all?) scenes: some real objects in foreground, big skybox in background.
Overall, a thumbup because it looks fucking good. But it's still slow and looks like other plastic demos...

- No "real environment" in most (all?) scenes: some real objects in foreground, big skybox in background.
Overall, a thumbup because it looks fucking good. But it's still slow and looks like other plastic demos...
this demo is far ahead of its time. marvellous, but maybe would run more smooth on a ps3 platform :)
Made me sing.
Wow. Supermagnifico!
Amusing somehow. Some of them get envious (not the map) and start digging up the dirt, only to find you, nooo, they cheated! That explains why their demos sucked and these people rule! Why do I even get up on morning!?!?!
Indeed. Somehow it makes sense, don't it?

Very nice stuff! And this time there's also some kind of flow in the demo! (but of course this needs ultra-high-class hardware :(
great visuals , great music.
Gargaj: to straighten things up, you aren't trying to launch the demo using guest/whatever-account-not-having-administrator-rights ? shit used to happen, when people tried to launch demos using limited accnts.
The fractal tree things at the start and end run around 2fps here, while the rest runs ok. Thats with minumum settings, and turning the resolution down to 320x200 has no effect on the speed of those parts, so unless its doing something with the vertex shaders thats limiting it, it looks like it a bug.

I enjoyed 195/95, even liked your Symphony 2004 Invitation, but this one was simply BORING. Obviously EXT_framebuffer_object did *not* speed up your enigne, so why sticking to it and excluding another part of your viewers?
MASSIVE!
keep up the good work, guys.
keep up the good work, guys.
cute
kbi: no, i also installed new drivers because of the framebuffer ext. i might do some callstack tracing later today.
Cool! :)
ok i did some blind debugging and what i see is that the crash happens at 0x42D944 after one of the glMapBufferARB(0x8892, 0x88BA); calls returns NULL and the code tries to copy something on that address. hope that helps, if you want more you can contact me on irc/icq/msn.

nearly the same here (~10 FPS with fraps) with
AMD Athlon XP 2500+
512 MB PC2100
aiw 9600xt 128 MB
im thinking its a processor thing, tho. still looks great, tho.
technically its brilliant, but not my style of demo so piggie
^yawn^ another 3D demo...

I wanted to wait until I had the realtime version available, so here is my comment...
I liked it, it reminds me of the latest TBL demos: lots of apparently unconnected but great looking 3d scenes, a wonderful music, and an overall good feeling after watching it. Hell, they even included rgba in the greets :). And some of the scenes (fractal tree and exploding girl) are just breathtaking.
On the not so good side, well, I took the quality levels to a minimum (no AA, no aniso, 640x480), and the fractal tree scene still runs slowly on my Geforce go 6600. Also, the blurred skybox + great looking 3d object in the middle can be boring for some people (ok, not me ;).
As a summary, a well earned thumb up.

Whoa!
Magic: ext_framebuffer_object is only present in the latest two drivers, so it should work if you update

looks beautiful
Great job!
Only a question to bonzaj:
to compute the scene geometry do you use SW vertex processing or GPU processing?
I ask this because i've noted that in some situations using the cpu for the geom. transformations can achieve greater speeds.
In example try to run this with and without SW v.p..
In my experience (ati radeon 9700 mobility) that works smooth as silk if i use SW v.p. and instead it dies in some scenes (the massive cube tunnel) if i let it to the Gfxcard.
Just to know, thx :)

Here's for taking a step further in demomaking, even if "only" in visual terms.
Even better than the real thing!!! :) Maybe a little short though if there is any cricism.
So its obvious who will win BP'06 i am afraid.

nice!! very nice!!
Doesn't go anywhere, but still a massive production. More music of this kind in demos please!
this rawks. period.
as of know easily the best prod of 2005 for me.
as of know easily the best prod of 2005 for me.
actually, my chin almost dropped. yes yes yes yes yes!
Plastic rulez!
really nice
left me breathless
What a yummy yummy taste it is !!!
With the latest catalyst drivers (and of course with Dhmodtool 2.2, since I've a mobility) runs discretely fast using low settings.
I also tried with Omega drivers before but with them the framerate was a rollercoaster.

.
This is impressiv ! Great work
bonzaj: hm... I don't see why 1/2 million vertices (even with a reasonable length vertex program) should be slow. Modern cards can easily do a couple million verts/frame and still have 30fps or so. Maybe you have lots of draw calls (now that may be a cause)?
Nice visuals but felt like bits and pieces from your previous demos. Nice music too.
Bonzaj! The previous Version runned on a ATI9800GT, this one not... where is the need of EXT_framebuffer? The definately deserves a thumb down... but heck, It's too good for this behaviour. If a feature of a gfx-card is not supported, make a disclaymer and run it without.
Stunning... Really nice dof-effect on the metaballs. Looks very realistic.
And bonzaj is right, ext_framebuffer_object is the way to go. =)
And bonzaj is right, ext_framebuffer_object is the way to go. =)
rules and runs smooth here >D
I couldn't watch the demo EXE due to outdated driver v5.2 (for a reason -- All-In-Wonder's analog audio). I watched the high quality DivX. Wow. Nice. I cannot imagine watching the real deal. One day, I will!
I expected the worst, but I liked this far more than your previous efforts. This time there was actually something happening on the screen. But please give those lifeless HDRI sculptures a rest already :)
Now, I had my "catalyst" drivers update and:
Wow! Great show.
Wow! Great show.
Forgat about the comments i did about skyboxes.. I took time to learn a bit about HDRI ... It s far more complicated to do than skyboxes ...in fact it does not have anything to do with skyboxes ( considering the maiunt of work needed )... I confirm that it s nearly impossible to create HDRI maps with a standard PC and a standard camera.. So abuctee your coment is just pointless.
Great demo! Beatiuful and hardcore in as soft way (yeah, try figure out what im saying)
nice gfx but pretty boring...
Way better than the last one which looked a bit chaotic in my opinion.
But - to make the crowd really go mad, let the woman stand up and walk around instead of covering it which flies (or whatever that was).

A good one but Perfect Love was the true winner of Evoke this year.
Very nice to see another plastic demo !. This one is moving slightly faster, and implements more 'abstract' forms than, say, 'your fingers'.
I enjoyed the tree scene - However, I only saw the video (which is very smooth). I wonder how fast it will run on the 6600GT; It didn't play on the 9600.
The only problem with the demo is that it doesn't seem to go anywhere. There is no climax. It reminds me the wild 'Blue' by Haujobb, where similarly ambient graphics are being played over a static tune.
Nevertheless, congrats for another step forwards.

Amazing
i like the whole look and feel! it's just beatiful!
also nice tune.
also nice tune.
Brilliant show! A little more action compared to your previous demos which makes a world of difference (even if the scenes are seemingly unrelated).
Everything except for the tree scene runs smoothly on my 9800.

überbrilliant!
and smooth enough on my 9600p :))

really nice demo, especially the music "scores" are smooth and pretty good.
Didn't work on my ATI 9500 first (EXT_framebuffer_object wasn't found)
Just upgraded the driver and I ran just fine.
As pepole has written before here. Using stuff without proper credits is really bad, but seems to be fixed now (sorf of atleast)
But its a nice demo, I really like it.

I don't like some parts but overall it is still quite excellent.
agree with scamp, paniq and abductee. I do find that the demo looks good in parts and that the soundtrack is pretty nice but the demo itself has no soul. It is just an almost below-average demo with upgraded gfx.
also: fuckings for not crediting proper sources.
also: fuckings for not crediting proper sources.
I'm waiting for the rgba conversion to 64kb XD ...
State of the art. I really enjoy the look and the general organicy feeling supported by the music. Sure it's all bumpmapping, particles and HDRI... but just look at it! :) Quite astonishing IMO!
only saw the nsv a while ago...
well....im sure 3dmark07,08,09 will still look like crappy bs compared to this....also perfect gfxz & sound fits 100%...
OMG.

OMG.
i have also noticed that there are a few sync issues.
especially at the..... "black mold" (?) scene, just before the statue blows up.
also, my comp slows down quite a bit (~10 fps) when the metaballs come on.
i put that tree factor to 7 and its going about 25 fps.
running AthlonXP 2500+ underclocked at 1.5 GHz/ 512mb pc2100/ 9600XT 128mb.

This was beautiful, even if I'm tired of the style already. :)
I do not like the demo. Yet I think this is quite a personal thing. Visuals are great, music fits. Great demo. Still I don't like its style, sorry.
incredible beautiful
this demo is pushing the limits...
Looks great
Its a nice demo, but somehow I miss something, the real kick. Though it surely is done very well i cannot thumb it up for that reason.
love this demo! amazing flow, perfect handling of colors!
about the debevec maps: maybe just put it in the nfo next time and everybody will be fine :)
about the code: i wonder why you need ps / hdr at all? do you actually ever use the property that those maps are hdr? i could not spot a single place where going down to 8bit at export/load time would have made a difference?

indeed!
great
8-o
Terribly slow on my computer :(
whoa, totally blew me away. It's funny how people always find something to complain about. I'm not looking for a higher meaning of the demo, it simply touched and entertained me. Great work, Bonzaj etc.
for the final.
runs slowly: 3200+ Barton, 1Gb, GF6600GT :(
great, more noisy and dirty that 195/95 liked the style, great models and code aswell
waiting a final version.
Bonzaj
Runs at 2 fps with a GF6200 DDR so the .nfo file should be wrong Gf 5?¿? & 6

this is just an amazing demo. ultra high quality.
Shiny!
plus points:
the cube/sphere scene is pretty, and the girl statue exploding into spheres was a funky idea. the trees were somewhat interesting.
minus points:
the framerate absolutely sucks (~2fps) on a AMD MP 2800+ w/ GeForce 6600 256Mb. had to go down to 640x480 with x4 antialiasing to get anything decent. loading from disk caused pauses in rendering which dulled the effect.
conclusion: piggy.

extra big thumb up for soundtrack.
OMG! This really blew me away, love the entire feel, the organic touch, everything! The music follows the organic touch every step, great! And the first, dark scene with the green metaballs or whatever, waaaaaaah! :)
Nice! Nice!
It runs perfectly smooth on my Radeon 9800. For those with slow framerate even in 640x480, did you check you have you AGP correcly configured? It could happen that you dont have it but still didnt notice because 90% of the demos still draw just 5% of what a graphics card can...

I Liked it. The usual Plastic-style-realism and great Music.
Just got a 7900GT and now this demo runs as it supposed to do!
Beatiful stuff, one of the few scene productions nowadays that really stretch the hardware and show rendering quality of professional level.

Well I upgraded my card and watched this in realtime. Fucking fantastic!! This is totally my kind of demo! Big effects, insanely good visuals and one hell of an atmosphere.
I just realised I've already thumbed this up, but here's another!

looks like a nice but pointless 2 fps slideshow on a p4 3.2/2gb/fx5700... so my thumbs remain where they are until I have the proper hardware to judge...
Nice demo....the floating black particles are somewhat freaky though!
yes.. i think this is again a beautiful release, with exceptionally well scored music
why these trees is so slowly on my 7600GT?
it occurs in settings by default. in my old PC with 9800Pro it runs fine
=)
GOD I love this one!
Watched this one Today.. Perfect one :)
wow.. didnt comment it yet.. So here is my thumb.
Im still waiting for the next one (you told a little at bp)..

wau! good looking and excellent music
I actually prefer 195/95. But it's ok.
.
wow
:)
Perfect balance between simplicity and complexity. And the music, as well as gfx, rocks. Some scenes looks like raytraced prerendered animation. Great!
Love this prod from an artistic POV. It's true that the scenes themselves aren't /that/ imagininative, but the whole thing flows together and creates a lovely mood.
Even the metaballs scene - such an old and boring effect, but in context it gives a wonderful ambience.
Re: HDRI maps, I haven't read into how these worked, but surely a custom raytracer would be able to generate these? I'd prefer that in demos to ones generated with photography + special equipment anyway...

My eyes loved it (the final scene -the one with the fractal the girl statue-... woot :d)
The music is very good too.
I didn't understand the story/msg, but the thumb up !

Some really nice eye and ear candy, but it is a bit empty, somehow. Still a rulez.

Beautiful. As long as one keep making videos to watch those CPU/GPU-sucking demos.
We're in 2007 and I still can't watch it.

i don't know if it's raytracing or not, but the only thing that is sure is that some parts are slow... this demo needs something like 1 THz to run smooth :))
what masterm said.
ultra thumb up for music. great work blz.

masterpiece
polish mafia!
I show plastic demos to the cg cs students at my school. This is an amazing technical masterpiece, but I prever 195 :)
This is so beautiful I won't give a single fuck about any ripping or such crap. Even the music fits, although not particularly my taste.
Big thumb up for being 2005 and looking like tomorrow. Doesn't quite mean anything, does it ? ;)

Just simply awesome. The lighting, style, the emotion is all there. The use of HDR is only beaten by your own products, nobody else comes close. Definitely in my top 3 of all time.
Design-wise wery nice production. It wouldn't run on my computer (GF7600GT) though.
Nice 3D, and nice title picture.
It is okay, but looks better now than it was on the party
O_o--b
really amazing (hardware requirements too ;-)) one of my most favourites
Very nice.
more please MORE!
cool
Very stylish, good effects, nice soundtrack, great flow and direction.
I really liked the scene in the screneshot. IMO the fractal-ish cloud thing looked too "dirty". The girl model was good but somehow I feel it could have been even better.

not really my kind of stuff
just forgot to thumb. amazing. polska!
nice one
(huh. The debevec stuff made me change my opinion... Unfortunately it's too late)
Late thumb for a nice demo.

bombastiC graphiCz :)
ambient <3
rays <3 great music and synchro :D
nice
i thought the motion and the audio/visual syncing were well done. this demo has a very professional feel to it. but i don't especially care for the music, and the demo as a whole doesn't make a connection with me.
I always thought I'd thumbed this one up. Another astounding demo by Plastic. This one has a really eerie mood to it, while still maintaining the epic feel of a Plastic demo. Great stuff!
Great amazing work! i recall the WOW i had when i saw it for the 1st time....
Now that I have hardware that runs this well, I can finally give a much deserved thumb up. Really enjoyed this demo!
coolio
Most impressive! Plastic always seem to have such a deep emotional tone in their works. I'm most impressed how they fuse code, design and emotion together like that. Love this shit!
Fantastic demo.
What??? No thumb yet??
Outstanding demo! Great soundtrack and superb scenes...graphics-wise there's still (speaking in 2009) no other group that can hold a candle to Plastic's efforts. Not even close. 195/Final Audition/Into the Pink...with every production they raise the bar higher and higher.

this one was wow. sorry for no thumb yet

ONE of the best demos ever !
Damn I did not thumb that one up yet. Great visuals, style and music. For me one of the best demos ever.
wonderful show !
Brilliant!
Some of demoscene's best looking visuals here!
awesome
Great demo!
very well crafted
Eyepleasing spectacle ;)
still looks great.
.
Great work with colours!
what a joy in full HD still
Wow, this is already 10 years old? Still awesome!
Still great after all these years.
this sountracks... <3
This really holds up well considering it's 10 years old now.
What the guy above said .
This one has aged really well!
like
always loved this, and like kusma said, still holds up!
love the organic shaped merry go round fx! <3
here you go you lovely cdc!
The art of making a demo that is more than the sum of its parts.
That moment when you were really impressed by a demo
I have to appreciate this for the rendering fidelity in 2005, but who the hell thought that first scene looked ANY good? Wishing it was entirely "ambient" though... those are the best moments.
A time where Demos were just beautiful!
woooooaaaaaaaaaah
although the music doesn't fit too well in my opinion

Great orchestral music that fits the storyline
I'd love to see another plastic demo one day.
