The rendering is really nice, even if there's apparent precomputing!
Nice writeup, btw. Also, if you do anything similar in the future, try to underexpose the photos so that you can overexpose them on the screen, that way you can colorize more easily without having the whites getting clamped.
There's nothing more sad than a shiny flare becoming a flat blob of color, no matter how pastel it is :)

If I had one minor gripe: with the amounf of fade in/out, I'd love to see a version where you dim down the lights *before* blurring and clamping rahter than after.
