- demo Windows Iconoclast by Andromeda Software Development [web]
- Awesome. A bit too GPU heavy in some parts, but awesome :-)

- demo Windows ambience for the masses by Andromeda Software Development [web]
- Calm production with nice visuals :-). It is supposed to be seen "before" Aphorism, but personally i prefer to see it after.
While Aphorism is about anger (fire), Ambience is about calmness (water).

- demo Windows Aphorism for the Masses by Andromeda Software Development [web]
- I expected to see random noise, after some comments.
Well... this is NOT even noise! Well it has some noise at the background, but the most part is a distorted video, pictures and/or something, synched with the music! If you try to see what's hapenning, you'll notice how the colors match to music's moods at some points.
This production is superb. While Planet Risk drops your jaws at the floor because of it's effect, Aphorism gives you harsh emotions with a touch of anger at some points and unexpected calmness at others.
I really like it. Thumbs up from me :-). I want to see more prods like this at the future :-).

- diskmag Windows Hugi #30 - Scene Substance by Hugi [web]
- It was good... once it was good.
Better than the last, but if we except Preacher's articles and 2-3 others, this mag sucks. I would thumb it down, but i really liked Preacher's articles, so just a pigface.
I disliked the whole EP-thing. You shouldn't publish any more articles from EP, since he still keeps on that style. But you decided to add an EP-column. That's ...bad.
Most of the graphics were good, but the layout became too web-like. I prefer the column-based layout for simple articles and web-like layout for coding and other material who just can't work well with columns. Columns make the text being read easier.
And i disliked the face at the opening picture. The face alone is... ok (but it needs a different expression), but all this layerwork on it was bad.
The music was ok... listenable, i could say. At least better than the last one.
The IQ test was a dumb idea. Get over this IQ issue ASAP.
Overall, this issue was better than the last one but not as good as olders. Try harder :-)
In any case, it's worth downloading...
Next time use your "delete" button on bad articles. Also having one or two other persons decide which articles will make it into the mag is not a bad idea, even if the mag won't be out in the next two months. Better late than bad.
And also get over this "king of diskmags" thing. Right now Pain has the crown. You had it at the past, but not anymore. If you want it back, work for it.

- demo Windows Retribution by Critical Mass
- The artwork is superb, i really liked it :-). And the story was very good!
I agree with moT that the slideshow needs some transition effects.

- demo Windows Open Your Eyes by Critical Mass
- I dislike demos with ripped music, but since most (almost all) scener musicians are techno-beat-it-like-mad or similar styled (with some exceptions, like aMusic and Leviathan by ASD), what can someone who likes rock styled music do when he wants to make a such demo and all those bum-tsaf-bum-tsaf-bum-tsaf musics doesn't mean anything to him?
As for this demo. I liked the music (i never heard it before, btw) and i can see that there was a lot of work in the engine (note that it ran smoothly even on an old P2@333Mhz/128MB RAM with GeForce2ti/32MB i had when i firstly saw it). The textures and the models are also incredible (for a demo)!
The shadows are a bit... hard, but not a "joke" as been said. However they seem a bit out of place :-). And it has very good camera movement.
But i will agree that it has a gameish character. I think that the engine is more a game engine than a demo engine. But i didn't disliked it (i'm fed up with all those abstract, random demos...).
Lastly the runnning animation sucks.

- demo Windows Planet Risk by Andromeda Software Development [web]
- I had the same problem, but not in the blood part - a bit later.
However it wasn't the graphics card (FX5950U here), but the CPU (Athlon64 - the old ones, i don't remember how they were called...) :-). I have my case always open and the fan was full of dust. I cleaned it and from 70-80 degrees it is now around 30-40 :-P.
And of course the demo runs :-)

- 32k MS-Dos yo! by Future Crew
- Very good visuals for it's time :-).
Under XP seems to run a bit slower, though...
(try an older PC or a DOS bootdisk).
