  Or maybe it's the ugliest pretty demo? Or something in between? It manages to be awesome and ugly and pretty and rushed and skillfull and boring and exciting at the same time.

• Hmm. I like what this demo does and shows, but it requires lots of suspension of disbelief.
  
  I see perlin-noise displaced coordinate spaces that I have to consciously ignore. I see iteration glow that thins between the planets. I hear melody patterns that compress well.
  
  If I ignore all these, it's gorgeous. But my coder brain sees too much of the mechanisms behind everything.

  This is, 100% perfectly executed, exactly the demo that everyone wanted to make from the 80ies until the mid 90ies. It's wonderfully cheesy, very stylish and yet totally pointless. I love it!
