- demo Linux Windows Amoeba by Excess [web]
- Nice code, great graphics and a powerfull soundtrack.
I watched the Linux version, which was frameskipping on a P4/2400 with a TNT2, but that's probably my system. Also, Sesse, keep in mind that when /dev/dsp is busy, it's better to report it to the user instead of stopping with a cryptic 'Unhandled exception: Error in .obj data' message :-)
And of course, kudos for releasing the code and putting this in the debian unstable tree :-) - rulezadded on the 2004-03-01 23:41:29

- OK.
The XF86 problem is due to changes in the debian distro from 4.2 to 4.3. I found info on how to correct that here:
http://stoned.cute-ninjas.com/linux/install/
The intro is basicaly what you see on the screenshot. It rotates endlessly while playing a music which may remind you of medium quality 80ies protracker modules. The size is big for what it shows, but this being in the fast compo, size was probably not a top priority.
All in all, its size is not worth the download, unless you already use linux and have plenty of time to kill :-) - isokadded on the 2004-03-01 22:44:53

- anti: Debian sid, upgraded _very_recently. With XF86 4.3.0 as I stated above.
As for fmod, I found it and installed it of course, I just suggested that it should probably be included to avoid the hassle of searching for it :-) - isokadded on the 2004-03-01 21:04:48

- error while loading shared libraries: libXxf86vm.so.1
Obviously, I don't have that file on my system. I use XFree 4.3 btw. Any ideas?
Also, it would be great to include a libfmod.so in the tarball or at least give some info on where to get it. Most linux distros will probably not have it installed.

- One of the modules I kept on listening on my PC over and over :-P Later someone told me it was from this demo, which, as already stated, is nothing particular at first, but the pace is suberb.

- Haven't voted for this yet? Shame!
It is indeed slow, but this slow pace combined with the sweet colors and dreamy music make this demo a unique experience, magical like a nicely told fairytale. - rulezadded on the 2004-01-14 10:01:19

- This is just perfect.
And to those who complain about speed, it runs at ~30fps on a TNT2, P4/2400 (SDRAM PC133) - rulezadded on the 2004-01-05 21:51:20

- demo Windows fr-036: zeitmaschine by Farbrausch [web]
- It's a nice demo. Nice and clean psy trance track (must have rocked at the party) and the visuals worked ok. It only feels like something is missing, to really kick the wow factor.
This looks like medium in the sense that both demos are red-blue-white on black and synced to dance music (although medium used house). Apart from that, they are obviously alot different. - rulezadded on the 2003-12-31 15:20:06
