error while loading shared libraries: libXxf86vm.so.1

Obviously, I don't have that file on my system. I use XFree 4.3 btw. Any ideas?

Also, it would be great to include a libfmod.so in the tarball or at least give some info on where to get it. Most linux distros will probably not have it installed.

Screenshots ? As soon as I find my camera...
libXxf86vm (usually) comes with XF86. Which Distro ?
libfmod kann be found at fmod.org (I just forgot to package it due to last minute before the deadline stress...)

anti: Debian sid, upgraded _very_recently. With XF86 4.3.0 as I stated above.

As for fmod, I found it and installed it of course, I just suggested that it should probably be included to avoid the hassle of searching for it :-)

OK.

The XF86 problem is due to changes in the debian distro from 4.2 to 4.3. I found info on how to correct that here:

http://stoned.cute-ninjas.com/linux/install/

The intro is basicaly what you see on the screenshot. It rotates endlessly while playing a music which may remind you of medium quality 80ies protracker modules. The size is big for what it shows, but this being in the fast compo, size was probably not a top priority.

All in all, its size is not worth the download, unless you already use linux and have plenty of time to kill :-)

you mean this:
"Let me tell the story of a small tower standing lonely on a hill in the middle of a forest which was located somewhere nowhere. The tower recently got a bit famous, since there was a whole bunch of stupid freaks that planned to arrange a happening near our tower. The happening can, in short, be described as a meeting for about fifty people that gathered on a weekend to do nothing different from what they do at home: Sitting behind their computers and do weird and nerdy things with them. There was only a small bunch of guys which felt this was wrong. Why should they gather at some place in the middle of a deserted part of Germany called Jux and then sit behind their computers anyway? Those guys decided to break out of the common scheme of such a computer party and brought their fantastic BBQ grill with them to change the meeting place into a giant outdoor grilling area. Not that they were outside the party hall, it was simply too cold out there. Instead, they set up their grilling equipment inside and enjoyed a lot of best quality meat. The little tower watched them for a few hours and then decided that it was about time to have some party himself. He looked at all the weird freaks and studied their behaviour. He got a bit depressed when he found out that he was not able to really catch up with the meeting attendants since he had no access to such a thing they called computer. This made him look at the second kind of people at the meeting, our bbq friends. He really thought that it was a genious idea to start a funky grilling in the middle of the German winter that the tower looked for ideas on how to team up with them. This is how our tower got up in flames. The tower was really happy that he became a part of the meeting and he was too late to find out that he went too far and lost himself in the neverending cloud of dusty smoke. This was the story of a small tower who wanted to be like a bunch of weird freaks that met up in the middle of nowhere. You're watching the surprise competition entry which was enrolled by Anti of Fake and underlied with a fanstastic soundtrack from Scythoior of Sueno (the artist formerly known as Zounds). Those 100kb of scrolltext were mostly provided by Unlock of Vantage and Padua and are there to entertain you while watching the small, poor, burning tower from the woods of Jux. The topic of the surprise competition was to tell the story of the Juxheadtower and we definitifley succeeded in it. How did you manage to avoid greeting a group twice? had you a sorted list to work on? ;)
Hi,

It seems this doesn't work on a Debian woody. I doesn't find libXxf86vm.so.1 :)

I have a libXxf86vm.a, but not a .so... :)

Please contact me if you're looking for betatesters.

Thx

libXxf86vm is _supposed_ be a static library (and it is AFAIK in XFree86 upstream), since the protocol is a non-standardized XFree86 extension. There are distributions shipping with .so versions, but that is braindamaged and non-standard. Link to it statically. :-)

Oh, and enlar, woody is hopelessly outdated now. Do yourself a favour and upgrade to sarge/testing/unstable/whatever
