Yes I've got that comment before, but I wanted to keep it simple, and also, surprisingly many people who know about hexadecimal don't know about octal. (As I've found out by asking around) :(

So why would a modern programmer/windows user know about octal, just because he knows binary/hexadecimal/decimal?

why does no child use its fingers to count binary? they could count _much_ higher with the binary system O_o
Maybe because it's harder to do addition if you don't have a third hand? (For a kid at least)

I could multiply and divide by 2^x (Within reason) and 10^x when I was 6.
