sonicstage is a fucking dream compared to CONNECT. I absolutely concur with Shifter that all Sony Walkman's should be either dumped in the Nevada desert or be shot into the sun. For the first time since 1985 I own a portable music player that is not made by Sony! You let me down Sony! Fucking idiots! Fucking ATRAC Nazi's with your file managing software written by Hitler!!!!
okkie :D yes, that's my problem. but on the other hand, if you forget sonicstage [because that's the ultimate suckage and not the walkman], then they're rather good. OK, you can't dl the songs from them - so? I have a sony device, and I'm rather satisfied with it, since it's battery life ownz - 70 hours is rather impressive. :)

I'm sure that a lot of people would go mad if a group made a pay-per-download demo. People would probably whine about forgetting cracker roots and killing the scene, but such a move might even bring some life to demos.
Alternative music scenes like heavymetal or psytrance are also commercialized. This is what lets these guys work full time on production.

oh and kelsey, CONNECT is the successor of Sonicstage, so don't expect any updates of Sonicstage but having to switch over to that piece of digital cancer instead. Then again, i'm bitter about Sony, so i'll just shut the fuck up about it :)

That's not what I meant. (Btw. 3DMark. Cough.) What I meant is creating a demo that's spread by a company for promotional reasons. (e.g. Project Snowblind Trailer or our 4Players thing)

i think sceners should be able to go commercial when they need to for money but i like the whole scene such as demoscene.tv to rely just on donations...
