I see no problem with a game company submitting a demo to a compo as long as they follow all the same rules as everyone else.

the sad thing is when somebody stops making demos cos they get a job, or only did demos in the first place to get a job. otherwise it can be a nice way to suck in more (talented) people into the scene =)
