gfx card advice? (again! :D)

Some gf6600gt can be quite noisy (especially the xfx which is the one I have). I bought a [http://www.zalman.co.kr/eng/product/view.asp?idx=149&code=013]zalman VF-700 cooler[/url] which is a perfect solution for this. It doesn't make any noise even at maximum rpm and allows some additional overclocking if you want.
zoom: afaik the 256mb versions are quite new, when I bought mine there were only 128mb versions. Only the plain 6600 and 6800 versions had 256.

yeah sure, but there is no room for that cooler in my shuttle .. :(
zoom, come on, look here
ok ok, you win :)
gemini: I have a gf6800gt in my shuttle - it somehow fits in and doesn't even overhead inside. Of course, it's pretty noisy and not with a zalman cooler. But I was really surprised that it did fit in there :)
nearaz: right .. and i might as well go for a slower card if i can't get it quiet :P
I haven't read the whole thread, only the question but 6600 GT is a very good compromise imo and it probably has one of the very best power/price ratios.
for demos, buy the 6600. it's quide good for its price, and has better opengl drivers, which is quite important on the scene, where - unfortunately - even windows-only demos are often using opengl.
