Who can actually run Rain/TBL?

Okay, another mystery: I'm trying to capture Rain/TBL and it's just not well:
- Try to capture on unaccelerated A4000: too slow.
- Try to capture on accelerated '060 A4000: Music/sound is distorted; music has timing issues, which then propogate to the demo
- Try to dump WinUAE emulator output: The demo runs so fast that timing is shot and the demo bugs. (In fact, it's pretty funny: The demo pans bitmaps around the screen, but the timing is music-based, so it keeps on scrolling past bitmap memory and soon you see other OS and program buffers displayed in the demo... :-)
It's not a transport issue as I copied over the .LHA and it extracted without errors. I've also booted without startup-sequence, and on the accelerated machine tried both with and without setpatch. No dice.
There is no WHDLoad install for this demo, so that's out too.

maybe do a setpatch with a no-startup sequence.
maybe trying to run with a fast 030er accelerator works. '040 is very incompatible, and '060 still to a certain degree. '030 is the most compatible. If you find a Blizzard 50MHz '030 accelerator card, it should be pretty fast. The original 25MHz '030 CPU on the A4000-030 is way too slow...
Rain really crawls on a 030/50, so I don't think that's really an option
Sounds like the old A4000 / 060 interrupt bug rearing its ugly head. Try to use an A1200 with Blizzard 1260.

Well, probably some other TBL demo will do better...
We're not going to go searching for an A1200 with B1260, so I think this one is out.
I liked Perfect Circle better anyway :-) Plus, we've got other TBL demos included, and a "stand-by" list so I'll pick something else.

A 1200 with 060 and no powerpc is the one-true-way for 060 demo :)
