...the hell?
that's seriously badass, but ... well a full keyboard would be nicer than the keypad, but oh well.

oh dear, that looks like a concept phone with an identity crisis :(
that is not a new look, that's another machine they are going to release. And yes.. it sux in all ways.
;)
oh my no.
I'll be getting one of these for sure (GPx2, not the ugly makeup box).
haha
LOL trace :D
I'll get the new GP32! (name isn't fixed. You could win the console, only 1500 names in the contest)

Some new pics:
Plus, it will have 64 MB of RAM instead of 32, which was first announced. Also a cable will be released which let you plug your GPx2 on your TV and use every application, game or demo on your big screen.
Also, there is an _official_ GPx2 IRC channel out there (irc.hanirc.org / #gpx2) where the GamePark guys, and close developers from Korea and Europe hang out.

Friendly reminder:
PSP is 35 times faster.
PSP is 35 times faster.
the psp (2x333mhz MIPS cpus) is 35 times faster than gpx2 (2x200mhz ARM cpus)? i'd really like to hear the arguments for that...
But a great deal slower to get homebrew binaries to run on
evil:
Some PCs are even 100 times faster than the GPx2. So what?
PSP target audience != GPx2 target audience
Sony sues, GamePark doesn't. Sony gives us UDM movies which are also available on DVD - GamePark gives us pre-installed Videoplayer (DivX, XviD, ...), music players (MP3, OGG, ...), emulators and applications and a ready-to-go Linux for free.
Here you go.

well both machines are still just a waste of money ;)
still, there is only one handheld that matters!
yeah
doh! i'm pwned like ep on christmas eve!!!!
what a waste of money and time - both psp and gpx. The same story every couple of years.
I mean, read a book or something...
I also never understood people who BUY movies. I mean, you can always RENT the movie. How many times are you going to watch it ? - And on a handheld device ? It is only, like, 5 inches wide !
- "Oh, but it so cutee..."
- "Yeah. Now pay your hard earned cash to SONY to watch an 'American blockbuster' (that you have watched before) on a screen smaller than your palm. Clever".
Cute my ass. It is only plastic...
However, I must say that if I had to choose between the two, I would go for the GPX2....

Navis: you have to. HAVE TO!
Well, yeah, I'd MUCH rather watch that movie on a monitor obstructed by someone's head, formatted for airplane screens and with major cuts. And with airplane sound, too.
Anyway, the few movies I watch, which is about 3% of what others do I guess - I still haven't seen HitchHiker's Guide yet and you'd figure I'd have seen that - I watch more than once, over a period where renting the movies would be equivalent to buying both of these devices with the money I save buy buying them over renting. True, if you watch a movie once and then toss it, it makes sense to rent.
But really I buy these things for the demos that will run on 'em eventually. And to try to write one for 'em. Cuz that's what I enjoy. If spending MY money on things I enjoy is a waste of money, fuck it, I'm wasting a bit of my cash.

Fair enough :-) .
I agree that watching movies on an airplane is torture (god, I have a transatlantic journey ahead of me soon, and I really don't want to be forced to watch "legally blonde 2" or something..).
My other problem with buying movies is that it can become a habit, and eventually you end up with lots of dvd-boxes - for a person living a nomadic life, it is extra space and weight. I got fed up with cds and dvds one day, and threw everything to the bin -including original software, gifts, movies etc.
Now I am one step closer to freedom, I don't have any dvd/cd-rom drives on the machine, I watch nothing but the occasional film on the cinema, I write demos and sleep in peace.. :-)

navis: you can always download a movie and put it on psp/gp32/gp2x and watch it on the plane. (I mean, you don't have to buy them ;)
however, i use gp32 to play old (but fast) pcengine games on the bus on my way work/home.
It usually takes 15min so, i prefer to do a tennis match than ready a little bit of a book.
Also the bus in London is very aggressive so you can't really concentrate to read anything.
