@gasman: I haven't had this behavior for most other users on icosahedron.website. The reason you didn't have to await approval might just be because they seem to be really fast at approving ;)
Hm, you got through immediately on first try without approval, kusma - however, the team is keeping an eye out for any follower-approvals, as we saw it happening for the Meteoriks, too. But I'll have a look into the user profile as well, in case there is still some default tick (thanks for highlighting! Learning as we go. :D )
