Looking for mentors and music donations!
One of the heart pieces of MountainBytes is its Demolab Workshop:
Participants get to create their first realtime scene, or other form of digital artwork surrounded by people that already walked the walk, can recommend tools and workflows.
Want to help them?
This is NOT a teaching role - their keyboard is lava to you. You are there to discuss, iterate and perhaps even introduce them to tools and sceners on- and offline that might be able to give them advise.
This is much more a role that is willing to learn along and try out new things - just as a good teacher should.
Here is what you would need to do and bring along:
In turn, you will of course receive free entrance and non-alcoholic drinks for MountainBytes.
We are also looking for 30-second to 1-minute music!
Would you like to donate some of your slumbering music snippets for a good cause and help a new scener on their way?
Send them over to us, so we can share them with our participants for their first little production.
In principle, all formats are fine (availability might spark intrigue for a certain platform), mp3 are however usually most sought after.
Want to help us out?

- On site during MountainBytes (remote support is however welcome)

Special 3D Compo and Live Act Announcement!
We are honoured to have the fantastic Lucid of Still and WAKE rocking our stage this year - together with realtime performer Kathrin Hunze and YOU!
See, Kathrin has this fun motion tracking suit, and built herself a little solution to make 3D assets dance along to her movements.
And that's where you come in: as part of the live performance, your 3D entry will be prepared by her ahead of time, so she can animate it and have it dance along to lucid's music!
See more info how to participate under our live act info -

trains booked! see you there!! :)
Do I catch it right and this is a party mainly for newcomers? From all the highlights, it seems so.
tomcat: it's at least very newcomer friendly :) accomplished sceners release there as well, so I think its not mainly newcomers. But disclaimer, I haven't been there yet, only released remotely once, maybe I got it all wrong
Our party is happy about the releases from seasoned sceners in our compos, and to of course reveal the Meteoriks nominees, and by that also offer the platform to inspire and share knowledge with folks interested to get into demomaking.
There is no "either ... or" here.
The workshop is already filling up nicely, so we're getting really excited what will come out of it again this year.
We are still looking for music snippet donations - a whole lot of coders and graphics artists signed up, so we can use some nice tunes to go along with their visuals!

Everyone, thank you so, so much for all the music and offers for additional helping mentorship hands we received, you are the absolute best! We're getting really excited for the party in a bit over two weeks.
Now let's see if this works again: We are still quite thin-chested on 3D assets for our special graphics compo/live act.
If you have some time to spare during the weekend, please consider to create a little something in Blender (or your 3D weapon of choice) to give Kathrin something to play with - and to of course opt into the chance of winning our lovingly handmade trophy Cowees!
More information on the compo can be found in the live act section here. This should also be very accessible for people who try their hand on 3D-modelling, so don't be shy.
