Mars Express

category: general [glöplog]

Might be a bit offtopic but still relevant, the movie "Mars Express" has been released in theaters in the USA and Japan, and a Bluray edition is now available in France (the collector edition is already almost sold out after 48h).
There's also a BluRay release in Germany next month (6/6) but I can't find if it was or will be shown in theaters as well.

It's a full fledged SF animation movie, it's good, it was selected at Cannes, and the relevant part is that a full sequence is in fact an exclusive demo done by Still.

That was a specific request of the director Jérémie Périn which, as a former Amiga user, wanted to ask demosceners to create this sequence - even if of course, the final result in the movie is recorded.

Can't post the sequence because 1) it's copyrighted and 2) it's a spoiler!

But here's the English trailer:

Looks like an amazing cyberpunk film. I saw the trailer months ago and I was very impressed.

@gargaj yes there's a few Amiga references as well. :D
There's at least one you cannot miss.
The movie looks super cool, will definitely watch!

It was shown in some theaters throughout the last month (at least in Berlin), but sadly I couldn't make it. Will watch out for that bluray release!

I just watched it and very much enjoyed!! In addition to the mentioned scene, it was especially cool seeing TOOLL3 code scroll by on computer screens, plus 1x and pixtur in the credits :)
Wait, what, Still was involved? 😲

I saw it at the theater in December and loved it. A true SF piece, in the sense that the main character is the environment.
