The there are to many programmers in the world now thread

SHOULD WE REALLY TRY TO TEACH EVERYONE TO CODE?
There is not a programmer shortage either. All of them should make minimum wage.
linky
Tech's push to teach coding isn't about kids' success – it's about cutting wages<-this
Remember when a ton of these people didn't know shit? Those days aren't coming back ever again. I was actually trying to remember when someone learned to program and got turned it into some big socialist thing. Maybe it was because of stem. Who knows?
But you would have though teaching everyone programming the world would have gotten better instead 90% of the planet is a shit hole. prove me wrong.

oh shit i forgot to add text to that link.
FAQ:
Q: Are you drunk?
A: No, I actually haven't been drinking for a while. Maybe I should start again.

It's crazy to think that every programmer you meet is all about solving problems. Apparently, everyone is at solving problems hence why the world is mostly a shit hole.
bad at*
everyone thinks they are just going to look at a computer screen now forever and their kids will do that too and make games and all these other people can do all the physical labor for them.
You'd think if say Microsoft had a shortage of programmers that they would be hiring more instead and trying to say get some of those Nvidia guys instead.
Not everyone is a genius at math or other things you need to get into those positions in the first place and some people may never be but still like programming. But some of these companies want the best they can get.
Instead, you open source everything, throw tutorials all over the place, tell everyone there is a shortage when there really isn't. I'm sure they can find something for some of these ones who aren't geniuses but can still program to do right? Yeah, that cheap labor thing sounds about right.
There are more games now though and though technically useless unless it pushes the limits of the hardware and forces places like intel and Nvidia to make better hardware can be fun even though there are so many right now it would take you 100 years to play all of them.

I thought at at least one point people would have made other things besides games too. Like helping places like the center for missing and exploited children or other things with their newfound skills. Nope. Those seem to be niche areas that have nothing to do with computer graphics or games. They also probably pay less.
It's cool that everyone wants to find 100 ways to make a cube look nice. But the cube is modular and not any more useful than the one that doesn't look nice.
and not only does this have to do with programmers. for some reason it got everyone in the whole world to create a youtube account or some other account and attempt to tell everyone everything they know. that's a different subject though.
I also leave you with some quotes for no reason.
Well you know the saying a problem shared is a problem doubled,so best to just internalize,it will get better. -George Reddington
"Maybe there's more we all could have done, but we just have to let the guilt remind us to do better next time.” ?Veronica Roth, Divergent
anyway, can't wait until this pandemic is over.....

Because the pandemic and all of this other stuff happening is the excuse. Until it goes away and can't be used as an excuse anymore. </secondrant>
ok really i'm done now. i don't care if anyone even reads this. i'm apparently schizoaffective anyway and probably have no idea what i'm even talking about. though i should have ranted somewhere else. i guess. maybe i don't even care about any of this stuff and wanted to rant for no reason.

This is just me being a pessimist and I'm vaccinated btw.
Also, does the world remember when iD wasn't owned by Microsoft or ZeniMax? Those were the days.
Also with all of these programmers now you'd think we'd have AI coding everything and then they get it to a point where they can easily maintain that and a lot of them start losing their jobs because of it. I guess we still have to wait for that.
so here's another idea. create an ai that can code a "good" demo by itself.
like what if it knew what it wanted to make. like with heaven 7 a person knows about people and life. but the computer doesn't. what if it threw in something like that into "it's" demo and it made sense? like "the newborn died right after he was born". a person knows what a newborn is and that well they can die. what if the ai did too?
What it really needs to do is be able to read and understand what it's reading.
Someday a computer will give a wrong answer to spare someone's feelings, and man will have invented artificial intelligence. ~Robert Brault,
but alexa just wants to sell me stuff. but she does say have a good night. so she's getting there.

idk how i even got on this ai thing. but i just saw this. TabNine is Awesome
So I'm like what the hell did I just see. Mostly like what's so awesome about this 8 second video I just watched and so I googled it and came across this. Code Faster with AI Code Completions | Tabnine
not exactly what I had in mind. But I was looking at the a forum post for the game quake specifically about the source port that nightdive did and nightdive wants to seem to remake alot of old game. It would be nice if AI could just do it.

like you could take source for an old dos game or 16 bit windows game and upload it to a website and AI would turn it into a modern windows game.
dos game source code and assets* not a binary of the game.
also ai assisted debugging. but not for programmers. you know what it's for. even Ghidra from the NSA isn't AI-assisted. Maybe their version is. But not the public version of it.
but if the ai is good enough the government will try to probably steal it.
