Hello. This may be the wrong place to tell this but whatever.
I knew my dad was into demos and hacks and has owned some atari's himself.
Anyways, I would appreciate if everyone could give a minute to my dad, or your Speechless/ Daniel Järstad for passing away at 6 pm or 18:00 in swedish time today. He passed away because, well.. suicidal.
But whatever, I hope you all are good, and that you remember to tell your beloved ones that you love them

I didn't know your father but I knew his work on the scene. It brought lots of joy to a great number of people. He made the music for one of my favourite demos from the last few years.

What a terrible news, we were chatting only a few weeks ago... I first met your dad at the turn of the years 1998 and 1999 during IMP Party, we stayed in irregular contact via IRC and other demoscene channels ever since. Still can't believe it really. I will write more when I can find the right words again.

Oh no, this is terrible and hard to believe. Same aas Havoc, we were in loose contact since the end of the nineties. In recent years we met a couple of times at Sommarhack in Sweden and he was such a nice person :( My condolences to the family. Rest in peace, Speechless.

I couldn't believe this, we were chatting with him as late as 16.35 yesterday and nothing seemed wrong. Now it's confirmed through secondary source, and I guess there's no way around it any more, have to accept the fact.

I'm very sorry to hear that Elvis.. the death of a parent is an incredibly hard thing, and perhaps especially so if it was a suicide. Based on personal experience, I would advise you to get some sort of mental help, perhaps seek out grief groups and talk to others who have experienced similar things.
