pouët 2.0 update news
category: general [glöplog]
this is nice indeed :)
IMs are now linked and when you input them they get parsed for validity:
https://www.pouet.net/user.php?who=102425
https://www.pouet.net/user.php?who=102425
Also worth repeating that none of the IMs you provide will be visible for someone who is logged off, so you should be fairly safe from bot-scraping.
Excuse me sir, you forgot TikTok :) </non-ironically>
so we can watch you dance?
Maali: Yes, in a nekogirl suit.
But seriously, there might be a possibilty of demoscene outreach there. Plus silly memes are popular so "atomic playboy" and the pig will fit right in.

Outreach ahoy but for now I don't think the Pouet user page is the bottleneck for that :)

:)
Looking forward the "rob is jarig" challenge!!
(I've ditched TikTok because Donald says it's bad so you can forget about that one...)
How about adding the boards to the API? I might be the only one who's interested but perhaps if you're bored sometime Gargaj? I can probably scrape the info some other way though... just a thought.

Do you have a specific use case?
Different suggestion,
Perhaps you fix "Wanted" section, it points to very outdated posts, while definitively there are newer that are not exposed at all.
Not a feature that is heavily used I believe, but showing 6 years old requests on top, definitively not helping to get this feature anyhow adopted.

The RSS randomizes the posts unless there's one that's newer than a month; this way even old ones get shown rather than always showing the same 5.

I was thinking about making a boards per country chart. I got the idea after sensenstahl posted two BBS intros for an Israeli board.
A DB dump should probably be enough for this, there's not that much happening board wise to warrant an API endpoint I guess :)
Both are in progress now. Data dump should happen tomorrow early morning.
Cool, thanks Gargaj! :) I shall bring out my python script and my thinking cap.

After the amazing and varied 8-byte showcase at Lovebyte, I am wondering if now is the time to add 8- and 16-byte categories to Pouet?
Hi,
Can you rename the category: "TRS-80/Coco" to "TRS-80/Coco/Dragon" ?
Thanks,
f.

Oh and also eventually the "Dreamcast" category to "SEGA Dreamcast" as there's already "SEGA Game Gear" "SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive" & "SEGA Master System".
so it seems when I change my twitch contact to "ferrisstreamsstuff" the first 3 chars are removed and it becomes "risstreamsstuff" which may be someone, but it's not me at least. :)

try now.
fixed, thanks!
btw now that ftp is pretty much declared a no-go by chromium browsers, i noticed there are quite some prods that have a ftp.untergrund.net link as main download url, maybe with some scripting these can automagically be replaced by their http friendly files.scene.org/ equivalent?
