My (very) first mobile game
category: general [glöplog]
Soooo.. as Covid19 lockdown is driving me nuts, and with no upcoming demo to work on, I decided to give a go at mobile game development (and who knows, if I get lucky to make a buck to cover the hole covid left in its wake..).
I made a puzzle game based on nonograms, with pixel art and chiptunes. If you feel like checking it out, I’d more than welcome the comments and the feedback :)

Downloaded it - looks very polished! Great work. I also like the puzzle mechanics, although you really need that tutorial to get it.
Just played one puzzle, but it's fun! One Feedback: I dislike that when closing the app the music keeps on playing for a moment, and one time it didn't even fade out but kept on playing even when locking the phone. Had to kill the app.
Can't reproduce right now, but I will tell you how, when it happens again :)
Good luck with the game!

Very polished for a first version! Congrats with the release and good luck in the app store :)
Has chiptune music. Just tried it on an iPad.
I like the background music in puzzles ^^
I wish you get some good results for that lovely game.

Although it’s mentioned in the help section, credit where credit is due. All music is by Visager, except main menu music that is by RoccoW and xyce
It's quite addictive, played it a lot today. One small issue: the timer continues to run when you lock your phone and then get back to the game
This is by design, as the game is competitive in nature, so the timer is always on, whether you are out of the game, watching an ad etc. In tournaments it’s even more unforgiving as the timer will not reset if you restart the puzzle.
This is to prevent cheating and finding ways to exploit the point system. If you are not happy with your time in single player however, you can always quit the puzzle, and try for a better time the next time you play it (which is random)

Looks really good. Menu-music is very catchy and the pixelart is gorgeous (the jumping fox!). Question: Are there in the settings only six entries under „Interface“? It looks like there are more but I cannot scroll (IPhone7/iOS 13.5.1).
Bytheway: It would be nice if there were a possibility to shrink a solved picture right after solving. Or perhaps there could be a smaller version next to the normal one, so you can recognize the picture better.

Gaspode, there are 7 entries in interface, 2 in audio, and 1 in tools. It should scroll to see them all (does fine in my iPhone X). I’ll check though again to make sure I didn’t screw the sizing. Btw, did you try tapping on that fox? (A few times) ;)
Puzzle images are actually not pixel art. Each image has 6 levels (carbon, bronze, silver, gold, platinum and diamond). When the image comes again into rotation (semi-randomly) and you solve its puzzle, it will upgrade to the next level and the revealed image will double in resolution (10x10 -> 20x20 -> 40x40 etc) and will be displayed in full resolution on the Diamond level where the image is considered complete and you get rewards for it and a dancing cat ;)

Cool deduction game, well done!
Pretty nice!

Looking forward to it. :)
works fine on old Android O! but where's the prog metal?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
An interesting thing about this game is, that I have problems to stop playing. :)
Normally I'm not so interested in these type of games, but here I thing ... okay lets play one more puzzle (and this goes on for 10 to 20 puzzles or more).

@gaspode I feel you man.. the same thing happened to me yesterday.. one more puzzle and then I'll go take a shower.. then my phone's battery ran out.. 3 hours later.. precious time I should be using to fixing bugs and adding features..
Nice christmas-feeling on the startscreen right now. :)
I've played the game a bit and it's good, aMusic! Pretty impressive for a first game, you've definitely done your homework when I see the amount of features and nice little touches :)
@amusic: For your information ... since today the game switches permanently between the white screen (split infinity games) and the titlescreen (mad pixels) and never reaches the game-menu.
version 1.0.7.59 on iPhone7

Me again ... the issue is over. Seems like it was a problem with my phone and not with your game.
gaspode, whenever that happens it usually means that the app is causing memory pressure on the phone (seen it only on iOS) and the OS decides to restart the app’s webview. Manually killing and restarting the app solves it. Turning off the menu background animations will also help, especially during the christmas period as the festive background is a tad memory intensive.
I really like its' style.
Here´s my first one!
