Under Deconstruction 2020 (Reallife, Bingen am Rhein, Germany)
category: parties [glöplog]
FFS, can we get the motherfudging Covid-Lockdown NOW, please, for great justice, so things are back under control in late December for Under Deconstruction?
Indoorground Conference
Anyone who´s entering the partyplace with that kind of outfit gets a free drink from Abyss-Connection. :-D

In case anyone is wondering: It's still on. We are finalizing a few things, most importantly of a couple of aspects of the Corona safety concept, and expect to launch the website and invitation demo next weekend.
Welcome to Under DeConstruction.
A "it was worth trying" attempt to get one final real-life demo party done this year, scheduled to take place December 27th to 29th 2020 in beautiful Bingen am Rhein, Germany.
What is this about? Well, we were planning to make the impossible reality: A safe indoor demo party during a pandemic.
To make this a safe event, we had to invest tons of resources into a security concept. This involves contact tracing, disinfecting all equipment in a quarantine dock on arrival, getting all visitors tested for Covid-19 by an on-site medic (!), a gigantic hall with massive air floor, sleeping in tents, and having strict rules on when and where to wear masks. This is a gigantic and costly undertaking, provided by a huge team of 20 experienced organizers. Yes, we really got us on-site medic. Seriously.
However, it is not working out. Yes, we have everything in place needed for a pretty safe event, but there is zero chance that the lock-down is going to be lifted in time. And while the infection rate situation in our region is improving, it's still pretty bad in many regions of Europe, causing that many visitors (and even organizers) could not attend.
But we simply had to try. Because we love you. Because we miss you.
Even while it's not happening, you might find it interesting to see what concept we had worked out. It might also help as an inspiration to other demo party organizers out there. We promise to get back to the subject as soon as lock-downs are lifted and infection rates are moving in the right way again.
Check out the website here: https://underde.construction
And watch the invitation demo by CN112, released at Syntax 2020 today, here: Watch online Download
At some point the lock-down will end. We will meet again. Until then: Stay strong, stay scene & stay safe.

I am currently thinking of making the shadow parties growing strong in that manner. Two scener*innes meet at each place and stay there for three days. Get drunnk enjoy all the stuff. Hang out at other scener*innes. jeas.
*virtual hangout of course
Aber Hauptsache, die scheiß AFD darf ihren verhurten 600+-Personen-Parteitag durchziehen.
aber demos sind doch immer politisch!

Just make a online event untum 2020 / under construction 2020 with connecting to each other like a psychic demoparty.
nah. I'll leave doing streaming events to others, not my cup of tea.
We'll just keep re-trying organizing demo parties till the day we have one we are not forced to cancel :)

And others have perfected doing stream events anyway, so why bother.
I'm sitting in front of my computer doing code and shit about 18 hrs per day. Going to a demo party for me involves actually leaving my PC for a while. Even if I still sit most of the time in front of my PC at the party itself, from time to time I do stand up, skip over my social fears, talk to people, dance, and really enjoy all of it.
I know that watching a stream works a for a hell lot of people, but for me, it does not work at all. It does not allow me to step over the natural borders that limit my mind. There is no challenge. And not being challenged is boring to me.
