That was awesome! Thanks. Shame I'll never be able to visit the real thing any more, but this was very enjoyable. The live coding was sick and the demos were very nice.

As someone who was at every Solskogen ever, and part of the organizing crew all but 2020: I cannot possibly summarize up all of these years in one short post. But for me, it was about getting room to grow, to always improve, to break into new frontiers whenever we could. My role on the very first web page was listed as “technical”, and that's sort of fitting; things started with power, network and compo system, and eventually grew into Wi-Fi, stream when SceneSat could come no more, and then finally the entire A/V system for the big screen.
Infrastructure is not something most people think about, but there's a certain joy in chasing that elusive smoothness; making the network “just work” and accessible everywhere (forest Wi-Fi before 4G became a thing, yo!) even in the presence of a heavily squeezed Internet connection, moving that annoying cable out of everyone's view, getting 50/60 switches without a 10-second delay, finally having a good C64 setup 15 years after a projector incompatibility resulted in a very angry subset of sceners… My philosophy on this is that if you strive to make everything a little bit better each year, it will eventually be good. The needle wants to move downwards all the time, it's your job to move it upwards. Even if people only care when things _don't_ work. (I don't go to demoparties to drink beer anyway.)
So, maybe someone younger and less jaded will start organizing demoparties in Norway now that there's an empty space to move into. If so, the best of luck! I will come and complain about how things were back in my day. But you will have that room to grow, and it's infinitely valuable. =)

Thanks for a great streaming event! I'm also very impressed by how "stuff just works" thanks to people with 10-20 years of experience!
