Overdoze demoshow Youtube channel

category: general [glöplog]
i stop capturing for a while:
YouTube says it has ‘no obligation’ to host anyone’s video

there are still many upcoming videos, but because my channel is like a museum, never will produce any profit (for me or youtube), but it takes me lot of time and energy.

i check the possibilities, but actually it takes too much time, i do not have time/energy to do more.

Looks like the letterbox bars weren't cropped out :(

i always keep the 4:3 (<= 2006) or the 16:9 (>2006)

What's the reasoning behind that? This way there is no chance you can view it in fullscreen on a 21:9 display, there is a black frame all around the video.

Captures should always respect the original intended aspect ratio. If a demo uses letterboxing as a workaround to mesh better with the display standards at the time. A video capture should ideally crop out that padding from the letterboxing effect. Video playback software will automatically add the letterbox back where needed, but with realtime rendering you generally have to do this manually.

that is simple... i wanted to show, how we watched these demos in the past. until 2006 the 4:3 was the typical ratio, after that the 16:9. these more modern demos just expermental things, i am sure, somebody will upload them in 4k in the near future, currently i dont have the necessary hw for it, they are from a single setup (for the retro stuff until 2006 i always use a dual computer).
