pdx: who's taking it seriously? everyone knows iq tests are bullshit, it's just a bit of harmless fun.

p01: I'll leave 136 as it was the number I got on my first attempt. In theory, (almost?) everybody could reach 140 after some / a lot of / a real, real LOT and TONS of tries - some would need more, some fewer, but anyway, if the last score you got counted, many people would have 140. So I think it makes more sense publishing the result of one's first attempt than of one's last attempt.

Pdx, I agree with you to certain extend. Bragging about just about anything is unnecessary if not stupid behaviour. Still, it's in the human nature to compete and feel special about your skills. Does having high IQ differ that much from being for example a being good at certain sports? I don't say it's reasonable, but like people are taking IQ tests and get better in those by doing more of the same, there can be a weight-lifter who performs better after further training. Still, in the end the skills don't matter, but what you do with them, let it be logical and mathematical intelligence working on programming or muscle power doing heavy construction work. Competing on it's own without a concrete target is not very useful - even if it can be great fun. :)

I was much better at this stuff when I was studying computerscience, as I had to work with similar problems every day. Now, I have had a break for a few years due to illness, and my scores are considerably lower than they used to be.

Nah, these tests are false. I made some other tests in the site and most of them had wrong results (f.e. one said that "my" color is blue, while i mostly dislike that color :-).

Why you think that it was cool? Being something that 99.75% of people is not, isn't always that good.

Btw, in each test you made you gained different results. Isn't that supposed to mean something about these tests (f.e. they aren't as precise as people think)?

From where are these numbers come? I mean, why 150 is a good score, while 50 is not (except 150 > 50, of course). I suppose that all these tests are made by taking "samples" (of persons) from the society. What makes you believe that some of these "samples" weren't bad talkers or they weren't good at some skills which were tested?

In other words, what makes you believe that your "score" is actually 145 (or whatever) and not something bigger or lesser? And what this means, except that you have that score and except that you are more like the person who scored 145 or somewhere between the persons which scored 140 and 150?

BadSector: You're right, I've taken several IQ tests in my lifetime already and I've never got exactly the same score on two tests. But that test on which I got 145 was done under supervision of a psychologist, so at least it's supposed to be a scientific test, in contrast to many IQ tests on the Internet. (BTW: On one test on the Internet, I got IQ 156! But I don't remember the URL any more...)
