about selling your own tunes - absolutely no problem, you made the songs, you do whatever you want with them. sure it may be frowned upon by some scene people, as the purest thing you can do is to keep demoscene tracks exclusively on the demoscene (ie. for free). your compo-entered songs are free to download from scene.org anyway.
what i did was - and i fully recommend doing this - i re-mastered some of my older chiptunes and made it into an album available across many platforms (incl. bandcamp, but i used distrokid too who distribute it on many places like spotify, google music, amazon, itunes, you name it.. even beatport). and see, i wasn't set on fire. tracker music enthusiasts can still get the original tracked files anywhere but you also have the option to grab the slightly modernized, re-mastered versions, even download for a small fee, and - most importantly - you can stream it if you're a fan of using spotify or something like that so you don't need the hassle of handling tracked files while on the go or in the office. plus if you're Really good, it's a great form of passive income. Just look at me: i made $13 so far! *sob*

Have you asked this person why does he/she want to "buy" your music? Is it supposed to be just a form of a support or perhaps your music is going to be used in a commercial project? If the former then Bandcamp thing will be indeed ideal, but any type of commercial usage requires a proper license.
And I totally second Nagz. It's a good idea to re-work these tracks a bit before adding them to streaming services so that the demosceners could get something extra instead of paying for what they already have. You know - put a reverbed cowbell or growl vocals over the chip melody, oh yeah! ;)

i added screaming goats and crying orphans on top of my tracks, hence the insanely huge amount of money
=DDDDDDD
@v3nom Thanks <3
@jazzcat
Someone asked if he can buy a specific track. That track was already availabe as a free download, so it would be just a form of support. =)
@nagz
Thank you for your detailed information! (Seriously)
And yes, especially my older tracks would require reworking, I wouldnt bother putting original old tracks for sale.
Hmm, screaming goats and crying orphans?....Maybe I`ll add cats and puppies on top
and make 14$ instead of 13....have you tried that =) (not seriously =D )

stealing your idea, thx
You can use your demos when vj'ing for example, or sell your music online after releasing. It is your ip: you decide what (else) you want to do with it. If people laugh about it: let them. You'll be laughing all the way to the bank!
The other good thing about Bandcamp is you can get pick up sales through related searches or the music feed. And I wouldn't worry about putting out chipmusic in album form, it's been as established form for years at this point, just run your source files through a mastering pass and you're good to go.
Nagz, goats and orphans is not enough in 2019, today you have to have the horse.
Once, someone offered to buy my Soundcloud account. That would've been the only way I could have made some money with music. ;)
