Oh, yeah, add tradition to nostalgia.

DISKMAGS = CANCER

btw, i believe that since EP has changed his point of view, he would be a better main editor for Hugi than Adok, or for that matter a diskmag of his own.

Article authors may be wrong, respectless, and so on by occasion or misconception. As i was a journalist in real life, i have usually layed written articles to rest or showed them around to the people who might know beter than i do - which usually made me reconsider the point and publish a more polished article. But finally, there *has* to be that emergency break which is called the chief editor, which needs to have some sophistication and knowledge not to let pure bullshit through. And well, the Hugi 29 articles of EP were pure bullshit the way they were written, even if he had some points valid. Not to speak of the bullshit Adok has written himself for a few times.

Don't take it personally. There is an exception to that rule if you are a Pan-American.

Hugi is just the tabloid of the scene. There's no such thing as bad publicity.
It's keeping the scene alive, just look at the activity it generates :)

Okay I agree the scene should evolve with the times on mags. Personally, I still like the idea of downloading a mag and reading it anytime I want regardless if I'm connected to the internet or not. But there are some things that other people outside of the scene is doing that should be noted. One thing I have been EXTREMELY interested in is this site: http://www.magwerk.com/ these are examples of how an online demoscene mag should be.. not some framed piece of crap like everybody else is doing. Notice how magwerk uses the format to their benefit. They are doing the same types of things Hugi does.. background music/effects but with an online twist. If Hugi wants to go online, it should offer something more.. be interactive and creative with the medium like magwerk is attempting. Now, I'm not saying that the scene should go through flash.. no no no I'm saying that the scene should take magwerk as an example of how to do it right online. Because in my opinion, what magwerk is doing on that site is revolutionary and the world should be taking notes I think including the scene.

Magwerk is certainly a better more up to date format than hugi - and guess what, nothing prevents you from making it downloadable too...

It would be greater though, with selectable text and links in the content section. Throw in search and comments area for articles and it'll be going somewhere.

And yeah, why not do it in flash?

Bestest solution evar: Start releasing Cheese again.

It makes all other diskmags look better.

There should be pouet-style cencorship in hugi. All the EP:s articles should look like this: i'm a annoyingwriter so i got shamelessly censored, if you're pissed off you can hire a contract killer here (and here could link for example to the multimedia internet portal of russian mafia)

Magwerk is nice, but the magazines presented at that page are of a different nature than Hugi: They contain hardly any texts. Well, maybe mags focusing on extravagant design, built-in animations, music that is played when clicking on "listen" button, etc. would suit the current taste of the demoscene more.

BTW, I like the way of scrolling by clicking in the corner like flipping pages of a real (printed) magazine.

I don't think keeping the scene alive is the same as saving the scene... Some things are better off dead than saved anyway :)

why improve hugi, when we have pain? :)

Just by making your own diskmag you won't rule anything.

KEEP THE SCENE ALIVE!!! *BORIS/IDOLS IMITATIE*
Optimus, I have to warn you that you're such a loser that you're already losing your ultimate loserity. Some certain forumflooders are taking over your place. Beware.
