It's coming again, another instance of FOReVER 8bit party. This time it will be a bit special as it is 20 years since it started back in March 2000! A small summary:

- date is 15th - 17th of March 2019
- location is Horná Súča, close to Trenčín, Slovakia
- main scenes are Atari, C64, ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC with more as Thomson, SamCoupé, PMD85 and what ever 8bit people bring to the party
- remote entries are welcome
- the main site is at forever8.net

FOReVER keep few it's traditions as:

- 20 years of doing it wrong
- being low cost underground without any major sponsors
- no security checking your bags
- easily avoidable entry payment
- non-artifical atmosphere - people do what they feel is best
- insufficient number of accommodation facilities (orgas sleep at the main hall, no elite behaviour here)
- stable organization team
- quizes and competitions hardly seen anywhere else
- extraordinary opening and closing ceremonies
- no retro, the scene is still alive and kicking!

But that is what you know already. Just come. If you want!

too bad that you haven't managed to resolve this, as proper accommodation within the same building was one of best party features when I last visited FoReVeR few years ago (you probably remember my extremely positive party review here, that was even reposted to few other sites afterwards).

It's not that there are other accommodation options nearby, so if you're not arriving with your own car, you're out of luck if you want to sleep in proper bed. (and we're not getting any younger, so...)

really great party otherwise, would like to visit it again someday.

Bonefish: yeah, I remember both, you and the very positive review you wrote, it added a lot of energy for all the organizers to move on and organize the party again.

The accommodation is simple a question of the building. All free rooms are always used for the party attenders, nothing is left free. Not much can be done about that, maybe just to build-up new building near by with more rooms. But there is no budget for that. This is a thing no one is happy about, but that is the situation organizers have to live with.

I hope to meet you around one day again anyway!

Good! :) Same here, but Aki (from Orga team) said on the message board we should not worry. Xi is there and all will be fine. So hopefully we will have a decent 1K compo. Looking forward to it. Are you coming? or remotely?

As I have written, you shouldn't worry about not getting an ack for your remote entry. If you haven't received a Mailer Daemon error or something, they got your works. AFAIK this isn't unusual for Forever party. Some (e.g. the C64 section) check the compo email right at the party place on the first day. Also, nowhere is written that the orgas responsible for remote entries have to do confirm your emails. Just don't worry, this is punk :)

I just wish it was this weekend... :) 2+ more weeks of waiting... But I guess good things come to these who wait.

I think so! We're glad that people are still taking Forever so positively. I think that in this case, waiting is worthwhile.
