What can be done on VTech Socrates?

while taking a look at z80-based hardware emulated on mame/mess, i found vtech socrates - what were made (as demos) to that, and what can be done?

Quite often the problem with their machines is lack of ability to load and run custom software. There are cartridges but sometimes they are just connecting two pins and the code for extra apps is actually stored inside the main ROMs.
I don't know about the Socrates in particular, however.

never heard of it, seeing is it from 88, it is nice - and actually not much different or less powerful than what they sell today...
Probably a nice machine! But that keyboard with the keys in alphabetical order is so weird...
