Random "work in progress" shots
category: general [glöplog]
pure coder art, combination of kinect depth data and cloth simulation. it was a lot of fun to play around with cloth sim in realtime while using the kinect. i think this idea might also have room for potential in future prods.

The specular component works in a way.
rudi: nice! (even though i like the 1st one better)
pro: kuul stuff, gonna finish making a demo about it? :)
hi everyone. some time ago I already mentioned it in this thread:
http://www.pouet.net/topic.php?which=11279

You already have that one, it's called "demo compo"...
Hello kusma,
thank you for your comment. Your point is right - almost.
i simply want see the "modern tools gfx compo" competition
extended. As a pure gfx compo.
I had a talk with DFox yesterday - he's basically open for that idea.
I also contacted pandur of evoke - let´s see what he think´s about this.
It would be so easy to implement. Marmoset Toolbag writes
2 files - and you can view them in a browser. even on mobile devices.
This way 3D artists can show what they can do. without bugging their coder.
I have great respect for what you do in programming. But why
always impose limitations?
In the Crionics Megademo 2 / Noja Demo people wrote: "this may be the last demo
you'll see from us - in the future you'll be playing our computer games."
at that point people would be happy to have the tools we have these days.
My goodness, people - where did that thought get lost?
I love Amiga, C64 - I grew up with it - but tools like marmoset exist,
pico-8 - etc. why must this always degenerate in a discussion?
Using these tools would not end up in losing respect of the work you coders
do.
If there was an argument like - this is too much effort - or if just too few people would be
interested - ok - I would accept that - but it's a tool - it's modern - state of the art (out there) -
it wouldn't compete with demos in any way.
so: why not just give it a try? you work together with gloom. i´d also like to hear his
opinion about this all. sorry for posting in this thread about this - this doesn´t belong here.
kind regards
Cosmic

So far there was not a single person against it... that being said please stop pushing marmosets export feature as an argument, as I already stated in the other thread not everybody wants/can use marmoset, getting a simple, toolchain agnostic "turntable" thing with optional support for PBR going shouldn't be a problem though.
These comments belongs in another thread, so please move your discussion there, remember this is the Random "work in progress" shots thread.
Oh really Rudi, you gonna decide that for us? Go fuck yourself.
(I still love you, but shut up)

I'm not sure what do you want, Cosmic. There are loads of tools nowadays to enter the demo compo (to put together an exe) without single bit of coding. Why would you need a special compo for that?
And yeah neither this suggestion nor discussion belong here, it's a WIP thread where we go to see other people's pictures. May be you'll better create a new topic.
Cosmic. I guess it s going to be a short compo
superplek: Don't you start gaying on me, or I would have to introduce you to my gay friends :)

let's be fair, that opportunity was definitely on the table, but just not taken advantage of. i think you need a bit more DIY attitude before you can expect help from others, tbh.
(oh and rudi: stfu in advance plzkthxbye)
havoc: wtf is your problem.
rudi: hypocrites such as you.
havoc: wow. you got some anger management problems. did your psychologist leave you?
oh no, another scenedrama incoming...

Numtek: cool. I always liked hexagons. Used them in Altparty invitation years ago too ( https://vimeo.com/1464225 ) :)
