DOSBox-X demoscene testing results
category: general [glöplog]
For the past two years now I've been running early 1990s' MS-DOS demos through DOSBox-X. Recently however I thought of generating a table showing which demos work and which ones do not.
Lately I thought to test these demos against DOSBox SVN as well, which is in the table.

It seems Pouet added an extra space between /blob and /master in the URL.

Awesome!
The pain list is based on DOSBox SVN, not DOSBox-X. Good list though.
Interesting list, but how much CPU-Power is required. Does a P4 1.6/2.2ghz do the job?
Do you realize that this completely depends on the demo?
@TheGreatCodeholi: check out PCem, which seems to work in some demos where dosbox fails.
Impressive list it is.

I'd like to point out that DOSBox-X is not DOSBox, but a fork, which concentrates on more accurate hardware emulation, where there is also a focus on testing with many early DOS demos, and trying to make their hardware trickery work.
I'd also like to point out that TheGreatCodeholio is the developer of DOSBox-X.
My personal experience with DOSBox-X is very good, better than PCem in terms of hardware support (although PCem allows you to more closely approximate specific configurations, such as choosing a specific CPU and clockspeed).
People won't get it, the names are too similar. It might be better to rename the project to something unique, like XBox.
Does Box Eggs?
DOSBOX - X = DOSBO
@yzi: because there's no such thing as Xbox... ^_^
