Play music from Amiga-game using Exotic-Ripper?
category: music [glöplog]
Hi! I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me how to play the tunes from the Amiga-game "Banzai" in Exotic-Ripper. The music-format is the very old Soundtracker songs. I can play the song-notes etc, but the samples are corrupted when I try to play them.
Thanks.
Thanks.
0ldschooll plug-in for winAmp(never deal with Amiga). I used Prowiz for rip tunes.
WinLZH can extract some modules

Won't the game run on real hardware or WinUAE? Why not just play them from there if you can?
Why using ER instead of good ol' DeliPlayer win version for replaying the tunes?
Under UAE, dump the whole memory. Than use some extractors or rippers. Perhaps you could rip propelry then.
Or use Noiseconverter 1.53 by Buggs/Defect to convert your tunes.
Perhaps that may help you. Good luck!

It's kinda interesting that a question about Exotic Ripper gets 3/3 answers that are not about Exotic Ripper... :D
You did not state which version you are using. IIRC older Exotic Rippers had no focus on playing anything else than Protracker mods (maybe a few others). Actually, I don't remember it being a multi-purpose player or at least using it as such. That's probably why they included a bridge to Eagle Player in later versions, as the 3.3 that I just downloaded from Aminet.
Old Soundtracker songs had less samples. I had some success in the past playing them on newer machines in StarTrekker by Exolon of Fairlight.

Also note that SoundTracker and NoiseTracker/ProTracker mods are not just different in that they have less samples; the effect interpretations are also completely different depending on which exact SoundTracker version (or clone) was used to produce the file.
As the composer of these game tunes seems to be Firefox, it's possible that they are somewhere in the internets already, or you can ask him (in facebook or something) if he happened to still have them.. I would guess they being made with same Soundtracker version than for example Phenomena megademo 1 songs, which is at least not The Ultimate Soundtracker (and that should make replaying correctly much easier)
@g0blinish g0blinish: Oh, you're right, sorry, I mistook Exotic Ripper for Pro-Wizard. I used the Pro-Wizard that is inbuilt WinUAE, to try to play those songs.
@Foebane72. Because I prefer listen to the songs without messing with playing the game.
I'd prefer to play them in XMPlay mostly, as it got a good stereo-setting, reverb and equalizer.
Thanks all, I'll try using those other programs mentioned, or I'll contact Firefox/Phenomena.

Or look at the AMP's tunes of Firefox. Perhaps your tune is already there.
@Saga Musix. It was so long ago, so I don't remember which SoundTracker version (or clone) he used to produce the file, but I do know that he used song-files and separate samples for those songs, so he used some tracker that had no capability of creating modules, just songs with separate samples (like from the ST-00 sample-disk). Thanks.
@Sim. Thanks, but I already tried that. I can try again though, since it was like a year ago that I tried that.

@Waffeman
OK.
If there are some "tracker differences", please try Noiseconverter I proposed here above. It may give you a desired result. Trying does not cost anything =).
