permanently unfinished
category: general [glöplog]
This thread is for those things that you have left permanently unfinished.
I'll start: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BE7DeqRxgeI&t=164s
I'm not going to work on this because the code is ugly as sin. This was the first android app I wrote and I had no idea what I was doing
PLZ!!! Share some things of yours that are left permanently unfinished

Permanently unfinished only by express choice, or because I'll find a SHA-256 collision before I get back to them? ;)
For every release I have on Pouet there are 100 unfinished. Not gonna post them! :D
Unfinished are unfinished for a reason if not deleted after you realize what utter shit they are.
Some of em slip thru and are released like that fart you trusted...

im not sure I have ever finished anything
Hint: Don't release your unfinished stuff here but in the Nordlicht Gravedigger compo instead! ;D
this is an unfinished poo-brain demo that was meant to compete at Revision 2017 but we didn't manage to finish in time. We worked about 2 years on it and we were very sad that we didn't get to finish it in time.
As you can see, it is really closed to being done, but it just missed that special *something*

Only two years?! Looks to me like a work of a lifetime! :)
there is this one demo that has a great concept and lots of potential but...
Raspberry Pi demo we worked on for a little while back when RasPi demos weren't really a thing yet, didn't get far...
A style I still want to explore but not with this software rendering
Abandoned VR game prototype

'permanently unfinished' ON party would be Nordlicht Gravedigger compo indeed, but only once a year.. =)

It would be interesting if you put em all in 1 track each after each with some kind of tempo evolution...
being finished is just a matter of definition.

yea it would be an unapproachable clusterfuck
Well, there are the (pretty cool) "finally unfinished" mixes by paniq, that are kind of like this. ;)

You only have to quit your job and dedicate couple of years for this project.
indiegogo ftw!
Would also make a great documentary where we see you go heavily into drinking, drugs and squirrel punching...
This unnamed demo was Homer and my attempt to make a demo for a 1993 compo, abandoned when we realized 1. demos are hard work, 2. didn't have a musician (placeholder music is obvious), 3. was awfully derivative of Panic, and 4. our 3d rasterization code was buggy (which is why it isn't in the video).
We later founded MobyGames, so not all of our projects were a failure :)
