need some help with WinUAE (AVI rec)

hi guys,
i'm trying to record something off of winUAE using the built in AVI logger. It's very slow and even when disengaging cycle exact emulation I get about 54 fps on my i9-7900x, logging with frame rate limit disabled that is. According to task manager it's loading the CPU with a whopping two percent and 2-3 MB/s disk I/O so that's a bit weird....
Now normally that wouldn't be too big of a deal and I'd just sit through everything i'm trying to record. But I ain't got that kinda time so any help would be appreciated.

that's a bit strange, never tried to capture winuae stuff, no clue if that's normal or what could be wrong. i'm sure someone who has used it to capture stuff might know more about it. did you try searching/asking on the uae forums?
and i assume you're capturing lossless?

check "Capture before filtering"
Alternative solution : Use winUAE in fullscreen mode, while recording with a regular screen recorder.. not that fun, and no idea if fps would be better though. just the idea.
I've been trying OBS Studio for recording WinUAE, Spectaculator and Altirra, and it's looked promising in all of them.
i love obs and use it all the time, but i'm pretty sure it's bound to skip some frames on an emulator that you would probably get with native recording working.
or just go for the fraps+winuae route.
i trust obs more then i do fraps to tell you the truth. have no real reasoning behind it though.
Just recently tried OBS Studio myself, and it's better than Fraps, it's open-source, and it's FREE. I used to use Shadowplay, but that's far more limited and I've had issues with the NVENC encoding introducing "spikes" into the audio. What's more, with Shadowplay, the files used to be huge and I'd have to transcode them down with Handbrake, but with OBS Studio there's really no need. Although, you have to install the CoreAudio drivers from Apple when you use it, for better sound results.
I know this is the internet and all, but what's with the crazy suggestions? It's pretty clear that OP isn't interested in real-time capture (i.e. FRAPS, OBS, etc.), since he can already render slightly faster than real-time, and complains that it's way too slow. Slowing it down further isn't going to solve the problem!

I should have read it twice. it's non-sense, sorry.
Or maybe oerg866 is trying to rise his fps recording, dig'in a new form of technology that would use stop motion with winUAE or some kind of VR related emulators ? who knows !
