Singing in demos

Foebane72: are you asking because you want to make a demo with singing? If so, do it man! I want to hear it!

I was simply starting a thread to see what people thought of it, that's all.
Foebane72: ok, and what you want to do with this knowledge if you don't plan to sing in a demo?
Does someone said singing?

Leave it here as a curiosity, because I can't sing.
Twenty, twenty, twenty!!!
Norwegian Kindness by Spaceballs - features amazing throat singing

I love Amiga high-end demos with singing, it shows the Scene has come a long way from the music mods of old, which would fill up memory fast with even just a few lyrics, like, say, Big Time Sensuality or Tint.
Storm Rider is a recent example which really shows off the vocal talent, even though I don't like rap.
NO, NO, NO!
I mean if we're actually looking for good singing that didn't already get mentioned:
I'm sure I missed some, but hey, I have opinions too! Honestly It doesn't matter whether people choose to sing or not. There's no accounting for taste. Some will like it, some won't, regardless of how good it is. Much of the typical "demoscene" music is lyricless so it can be great to put into the background, something lyrics might disrupt for some people but that doesn't mean they don't enjoy it at other times.
and as to rap? Most of what I've heard on scene related sites or compos seems to be Nerdcore. That's definitely an acquired taste. ;)
- Midnight Run by ASD
- Scarecrow by PlayPsyCo
- You Will Never Get Out of There Alive by The Fine Gentlemen's Cocktail Club™, if Streaming Music compos count
- Broom Broom by The Fine Gentlemen's Cocktail Club™ (same)
- Jump Aboard! by Pale Rider ;)
- Most tracks involving Netpoet lately...

yes
I like demoscene-related lyrics.
Storm Rider by Focus Design is a good example. And of course that Evil Bot.

Oh, and one more thing: who manages demoscene lyrics list?
Add my demo/lyrics to the list: We'll See You Soon.

I'm reminded of Odd's World Domination for Scene-specific lyrics and just a touch of elitism and arrogance. I used to dislike it for the arrogance, but I've warmed to it since, as I figured it goes with the territory.
compo idea: randomly draw a classic "scene poetry" demo. make remix with vocals within 30 minutes. loudest one wins.

Ahhhhhhhhh...
Singing in demos you say? No, no, and NO!

Never saw that one before, but it reminds me of ASD's Wind Under My Wings, not to mention Spin and Chameleon, just off the top of my head.
I sometimes if some of these songs are rips from commercial music (no insult intended) as they just sound so good (I think so, anyway).
abductee: Haha, I was about to post that one too! :D As another example for bad singing in demos.
