Deadline 2017 | 29.09. - 01.10. | Berlin, Germany
category: parties [glöplog]
We're back for the 4th time to party with you in the pulsating city of Berlin, Germany!
We like to invite you once again to the new&improved Orwohaus in the north-eastern part of the city.
This time the party will happen again in the hall in the basement, which is now finally freshly renovated and features:
- new & proper sanitary facilities (and lots of them)
- better sleeping hall
- great bigscreen (as in the years before)
- friendly bar with fair prices
- lots of couches
- big outdoor area with possibility to camp and chill at the bonfire
As always we will have a bunch of competitions, live-acts, seminars and events, which will be announced at a later stage.
The new website is not up yet, but feel free to check out our facebook page or twitter feed and sign up for the event.

The new website will be up soon. Until then feel free to contact us at contact@demoparty.berlin or ask here if you have any questions.
Yeah! Was gutted having to skip last year's edition, but planning to come again this year. Hopefully also staying an additional 1-2 days in the city so I can actually see some of it :)
Insert mandatory "tram ticket booked" here! Can't wait :)
- No noro-virus!
...only lasers!
Train or plane. Hm...
Flights booked! :)
I could skip the noro-virus this time too...

Did I mention that there will be plenty proper sanitary facilities in the now renovated hall?
Additionally, if you had it once you'll be immune anyways.

That said: YAY, more Finnish sceners! unclex and major were also planning to come so I've heard.
Sorry for hijacking the thread, but going to Berlin to the Mozilla offices for the Firefox translators hackathon a couple of days before this party, anyone have any tips for geeky places or neat stuff that you have to do in Berlin?

Not true... I have had it soo many times.
But nice to have more Finnish sceners this year! :)
I've also (once again) attempted to coax the other local finns in Berlin to show up, but I'm not holding my breath on that one :P
The new website is finally up! Ticket information and pre-ordering will come next, but so far you can go ahead and register yourself if you plan to come :)

In the meantime we're proud to present you the first of this years seminar lineup:
ALL THE SMALL THINGS: TRICKS & TECHNIQUES USED IN INTROS
Everybody knows and loves tiny intros from 1k to 64k, but how do these things actually work? Even the most basic "Hello World" program is already larger than 4k, so how can we possibly fit graphics and music in less space than that?
This talk describes some common tricks that are used under the hood in size-constrained productions, from high-level concepts like procedural generation and compression down to the unholy things that are done to the EXE file header. It starts with very basic stuff that is easily understandable for coders and non-coders alike, and gradually becomes more and more technical.
This seminar will be held by KeyJ^TRBL^Kakiarts who released several small sized intros and 4k procedural graphics already, as you can see on his website.
