Nordlicht 2017: 21st - 23rd July - Bremen, Germany
category: parties [glöplog]
Immer diese Küchenargumentationen!
Hey there fellow sceners! We are only five weeks away from the party launch. The schedule has never looked any better, with the timetable being packed to the max with cool events and gigs this year.
Unfortunately, it does not look so good on the visitor side of things: Less than half of the available 130 spaces have been registered for and from the people who registered, only 20 pre-purchased a ticket. This means we lack sufficient funding for paying off the party location in advance (usually the due date for this is one month before the party itself) and other stuff such as pre-ordering the drinks and food, security fencing for the outside area etc.
We were hoping that the sky would brighten up a little at the horizon come mid-June, however the overall feedback and general interest in this year's Nordlicht edition still seem to be very low. Additionally, we were unable to find a financial sponsor and unlike previous years we also lack a private budget (from myself) that would compensate for this.
We are therefore reaching out to you, the party visitor, one last time and ask that you purchase your ticket before the 1st of July to get the party preparations back on track.
The alternative would be to cancel Nordlicht 2017. We would be very sad if this happens.

I'm trying to convince my wife that attending this year's edition is an amazing idea. However, it's the weekend of week 1 of my planned holliday from job, so it'll require some serious sweet talking and convincing. So far, it's still too uncertain for me to actually purchase a ticket in advance.

If your name on the (manually updated) visitor list has not been tomatized yet (but you still hold a ticket), it means that:
- I either haven't set your nick to 'paid' yet
or
- You did not specify a nick name with your purchase, thus I cannot tell who you are.
This is no big deal, however, since the infodesk at the party will have a transaction list to check against when you arrive with your printed ticket. So all is good! :)

We proudly present you the final music live acts and events for this year, thus completing the event schedule! On Friday's party opening hours, the guys from the Bremen based label RhyPat will perform lyrics-heavy hiphop beats mixed with real instruments. On Saturday's prime time, dance instructor 'dojoe' will conquer the main stage to school your feet hard! The 'Choco Confectioneries' will also return in full glory to take you on a journey through the diversity of South Korean pop music! -> events page
Christian Widmann (aka Widdy of Nuance) will hold a seminar about Nintendo's seventh generation console, the Nintendo Wii, in which he explains how and why you should be coding for it. Without getting too technical or in-depth, the seminar can be enjoyed by beginners and advanced coders alike. For more information, please see the seminar page

We are very honoured to announce that Individual Computers is going to sponsor Nordlicht 2017! Company owner and retro hardware specialist Jens Schönfeld will be present at the party with a hardware shop and showcase icomp's latest products.
I'm pondering to go there by car from south (Ulm, A7), so if anyone wants to join, let me know.
Where can I buy a supporter-ticket? In the ticketshop I only get the message, that the pre-sale has ended.
gaspode: There was a falsely set date in the config panel. It should be working again now! Sorry about that :)
UPDATE: Nordlicht 2017 will definitely happen!
Thank you all for your support!
See you at the party :)

Correct me if I'm wrong please- The plan is once again to play music in a partytent until (at least) 5am on the same field as the camping area?
not to mention the nonstop happy hardcore basement room in front of the toilets!
It's really cool that you get these unlimited noise hours! But it does make the choice to attend or not quite a bit more difficult for people who need their sleep, I'll see if I can find an affordable hotel.
I booked a room at INNSIDE, prices are okay'ish. Around EUR 120,- for 2ppl+2nights.
All hail the nonstop happy hardcore basement room in front of the toilets!
havoc: I swear I had nothing to do with the nightly outside music, but I can see how this would bother people trying to sleep in their tents. Nevertheless, I'm sure there will be some quiet times as well :) Also: free earplugs, for real this time!
The basement room thing idea is still in the making, we'll see how this pans out ;)
