category: parties [glöplog]
It is our pleasure to invite you to @party 2017!
Click this link to Register for the Party!
This is the 8th annual @party and we're returning to Artisan's Asylum in Somerville, MA USA. There will be three full days of scheduled programming from Friday June 9th through Sunday June 11th with 24 hour site access.
The room will have a permanently installed sound system and bigscreen comparable in size to the party system of the past four years and you're welcome to consume meals and refreshments at your computer place. You can't sleep here though, so please make arrangements for a hotel or roomshare if you don't intend to stay awake for three days straight.
We've also already begun scheduling live acts for Friday and Saturday and seminar presentations for all three days. Stay tuned for further details or contact us if you're interested in presenting or performing as there are still some time slots available.
Thank you, and we hope to see you at @party 2017!
- Dr.Claw and the rest of the @party Orga Team

While there are lots of eyeballs staring at Pouet I wanted to announce that we've almost got our musical acts, speakers, and overall schedule finalized for this year. There will definitely be concerts on both Friday and Saturday nights! Expect full details in the next 3-7 days.
Thanks, and enjoy your Easterparty weekend, be it in person or via your sofa!

The @party 2017 seminars have now been scheduled:
Khronos Technology Overview – Jim Susinno, Khronos Boston Chapter Leader
Khronos technologies connect the graphics software we write and enjoy to the silicon that powers it. We present an overview of APIs like OpenGL, WebGL, glTF and the new OpenXR, which open more possibilities to software developers than ever before.
Sound Chip Chillout – Inverse Phase
Join Inverse Phase as we take a relaxing deep dive into the capabilities of retro sound hardware. We’ll discuss different types of chips, what makes each chip unique, how to tell them apart, and listen to examples of each. Questions encouraged!
Book Productions: The Latest in Computer-Generated Literary Art – Nick Montfort
Computer-generated poetry and fiction has been developed since the 1950s in a few academic projects and in some experiments by artists and writers. Today it is becoming a more popular, widespread practice, and more people are creating book-length work thanks to activities like National Novel Generation Month. I’ll explain how a few important projects work, outline a few connection with and points of departure from the demoscene, and will read a some selections from what might be called ‘the demoshelf.’

Any stream?
i'm excited to sofascene this weekend. there will be livestream right? tell me there will be stream. :)
"SceneSat will be providing our live stream for the fifth time since 2012!"
revenant is correct, there will be a stream. We'll post links when it goes live (probably sometime between 17:00 and 21:00 EDT).
Looking forward to watching after work tomorrow :)
will there be a compo schedule posted at some point?
will there be a compo schedule posted at some point?
It's hard to estimate the length of each individual compo as entry stats for each individual compo vary wildly for year to year. If you're watching the stream we will announce the order of the compos prior to running them, and we can try to estimate the overall run time as well.

Any place where you can download all the releases?
Not yet, though the results and a few of the releases are available on Pouet already. I'm traveling right now, but I'll upload anything that's still missing on the 21st. Thanks for your patience :)
Great, then i have something to look forward too :)
FYI, oldschool demo is incomplete (I'm working on getting the final versions for these) but the rest of the releases are on scene.org. Sorry for the delay.
