Outline 2017 - May 25th-28th, Willemsoord, Netherlands
category: parties [glöplog]
Back home! Great party and vibe! \o/
Best outline I visited so far! Good work, well done to everyone!!
Someone already posted the results, but the files need a bit of sorting out before we can upload them to scene.org, mostly due to Partymeister shitting itself during the party. Will look into that tomorrow evening. :)
A wonderful party - was an absolute joy to be around so many amazing friends and have raging good time!
So many good memories! Okkie, Maeve, Industrial Pope, Xtrium, Lycan, susencrusen, kusma, polynomial, gasman, reality404, havoc, saga musix, topy, alpha c, --- the main man XXX being dad of the century --, harekiet, those alternative UK Scene guys from Hull and up north I never even knew existed, xyce, ALL the hardcore guys from Poo Brain (all 400 of you) - thanks for making the party awesome! Also a huge shout to the Revision orgas (Moqui, Madame, Mog and co) - great to see y'all having a chill time.
The overarching thing for me was friendship. You couldn't ask for better people and I thank everyone involved for making it what it was.
See you again next year! :)

That was simply wonderful. Had an amazing time in the sun and actually got some releases done as well. Already looking forward to next year!
Legendary party. Sunshine, drinks, hugs, chats, friends, super-soakers and skelters.
ah, so you swapped the nerf guns for super soakers now? .. interesting development ;)
Fantastic party! It was great to meet up with old friends and meet new, awesome people. The weather was so good, entertainment excellent and it was just so good to be surrounded by so many people having a great time.
Loved the musical entertainments and watching the compos. The food was seriously good and the cooktro chilli was damn tasty!
Great to meet some more UK folk and sharing the train trips to and from the party.
Thanks to all the organisers for making this party happen, and thanks to everyone that attended and had fun. I'll be back next year.
f@ck British Airways for trying to ruin everything by cancelling my flight home then cancelling the next flight I got re-booked onto <sigh>. I'm glad I have travel insurance.

Outline, superfine =D
Great party as usual! The random appearance of two pools and water pistols made it even better (good replacement for nerf guns ;), and LJ's cooktro was fantastic. Meeting new and old friends is always a great pleasure at this family gathering.
Minor issues that could be easily improved: Having no soap in the bathrooms until (as far as I understand) some of the cologne guys bought it on Friday. That was a bit of a WTF honestly. Also it really would be better to have actual paper tissues at the lavatories rather than toilet paper that starts dissolving just by looking at water. The breakfast also seemed rather undersupplied compared to last years (no, mayonnaise is no suitable replacement for butter ;).
PS: Expect an extended mix of our newskool music compo entry soon.

Should be mostly complete.

Great party as always.
The weather made sure that the 'real party' was largely 'outside'. If a full-sized swimming pool had been available, then this would have been massively popular. (But not with electronic equipment at the same time, eh!)
All of the catering choices worked, even the seemingly unsuitable Staempot meal. I stuck with the hapkar, await further comments with interest regarding LJ's chilli. I managed my alcohol consumption pretty well, at least until the last night. Others did worse.
Numbers were down a bit, a lot of people chose tentage as their sleeping accommodation. So the dormitories were under-occupied and relatively easy to sleep in.
My retro-computing choice for this year was a success, my Mega 4 ST got on just fine next to Knoeki's elaborately decorated C64.
Competitions had a bit less impact, this time around, but props to Gasman for making an in-party coded demo.
The showers being sub optimal actually worked in their favour this time around. A really hot shower was not needed with daytime temperatures hovering uneasily around the 30 degree mark.
All people I met/spoke with were lovely. I am pre-booking my next session of two-player infinite dungeon ghost killer with Knoeki for Outline 2018.
And a huge thank you finally flies out to Franky and Metoikos who provided a welcome break on our journey home with an amazingly keen lunchtime barbeque on the Sunday afternoon.

@AlphaC: The file tiny_sound_planet.zip seems to be corrupted. I'm especially curious to see that particular release ;-)
Punqtured: not corrupted, just contains a truckload (sorry, Truck!) of compressed executable files that any AV or firewall will gladly chew on ;)
But you might want to wait for the final version to be uploaded, we sort of rushed things badly in the end and the party release is apparently very broken and glitchy. I have not managed to run it at all so far, there is also some important stuff missing ...
xtrium is working on a fix, once it is available it will be totally worth checking it out! :)

Thank you all for the great party! I miss you already!
I just absolutely loved the atmosphere and talks I had with all the great people. Compos were nice, DJ-sets good and the weather was just perfect although I did got sunburned. :D
BTW, I still wonder what happened to my solid shampoo and conditioner I left to dry on one of the tables on Saturday. They were on Lush metal boxes. I think they probably ended up to trash but if not, I would be glad to get those back (especially the metal boxes as those are really handy and not exactly free).

That was another fantastic Outline demoparty in The Netherlands :)
Lovely weather, great people; was lovely also to meet some new faces (to speak to) as well, such as Susencrusen, Santa, Polynomial, reality404 and a few others.
The competitions were all good, with nice entries. Congratulations to all who entered these.
Food was up to the usual high standards as we expect from an Outline visit and this year was no exception. Didn't have LJ's chilli as we often cook that at home, so I had the standard meals that were available on the first 2 nights, with the famous hapkar selection on the final night.
I think the water guns were a success for those who were using them :)

Each Outline in succession is the best, true story! <3 I was super sad to have to leave y'all early, massively enjoyed every second! I tried to get some greetings on the bigscreen on Saturday but failed due to technical issues, so here they are instead:
Inside that envelope is the card you all signed, thanks again for that! Can't wait to hear the weirded out reactions from the couple ;)
