Revision 2017 - 14th to 17th April - Saarbrücken, Germany
category: parties [glöplog]
The vegan food was indeed so good that it got me sold on possible veganism :)

Next year: Participation trophies ;)
We did diplomas one year for everyone who delivered a firstprod. It's not the world's worst idea if your goal is to inspire people to make something. Don't think the PC demo compo at Revision needs that though :P
Not necessarily what I was trying to say, merely that in the last 3 years there's been ~20 demos in the PC demo compo at the very least, so perhaps top5 instead of top3 makes more mathematical sense.
(Really I just wanted Ninjadev to win something cos their demo was the best.)

Best Newcomer Award and a Hidden Gem Award
Thats a nice concept. Especially with the newcomer program thing already being a...eh..thing(?) at Revision ;)
2 surprise prices would also juice up the prize ceremony a level or two imo :)
Just in case this was said enough already: the vegan food stand was really tasty. I'm no vegan by any stretch of the mind, but their falafel was just great.
For this moment alone it was worth to be at Revision. Thanks!

Zavie: If it's the same falafel that I know, then you must have had problems with intestinal...gas ;)
Hello folks.
I lost a Backpack at revision 2017. There was nothing inside but a red book about biotechnology in german language. If you happen to know about the book, please send it to
Fabian Cordes
Helmholtzstr. 39A
10587 Berlin
It has been lended from the university library, and If I wont have it in 3 month, It will cost me 80 euros.
I will happily pay for shipping and a crate of beer. If you want to claim that, mailto fabian yes(strike that) at cordeswalz doot(orly) de

@Omid: hmm, no gas but I did feel like I had a minor case of food poisoning, which I blamed on my state of exhaustion. Did other people have food related issues?

Zavie: I did!!!
It happened on saturday afternoon, as one of those delicious falafel-wraps started leaking in one end, resulting in a terrible, terrible dressings-disaster that - had it not been for my foreseeingly grabbing a couple of paper tissues - could easily have ended horribly :-p
"as one of those delicious falafel-wraps started leaking in one end" XD
Is that a euphemism?
I can relate to Punqtured's problem, but not Zavie's.
TIL Punctured has a fine taste in metaphors.
I must say the releases this year were in quality and quantity amazing!
I did some live recording at Revision.. You can catch the playlist of them here:

I managed to spill dressing all over my clothes on saturday. -_-
Still delicious stuff.
I only ended up with two minor spots of currywurst sauce on my lab coat.

And here's Sunday night's set with Knoeki :)
Full tracklisting again in the Demoscener DJ sets thread.
That wraps up my Revision deliveries, so some shout outs are in order:
First and foremost a massive thanks to the entire Revision organizing team, the party was great once again <3
Special love to:
- Acryd, Steltek, kb and the rest of the beam team for the extra service when we were DJing
- Alkama, Ronny, Moqui and Okkie and all contestants in the Shader Showdown compo
- Team Bockwurst for the Ds, Ps and being excellent travel company
- Boris for the fika, beer and taking care of the Bockwurst fjortis division
- The Danes for the company, and being the best people in the scene to watch compos with
- Gargaj for lending me what goes for a luxury mattress for people with an iron clad protestant work ethic :D
- Everyone who wanted to have a drink with me during the party that I turned down because I was busy :S
Last but not least mad love to Knoeki for the set, and to everyone who came and partied with us. Special mentions to Poo-Brain, the Schnappsgirls and Cupe <3

knoeki's and your set was absolutely amazing! glad to see it's online.
would it be possible to have a DL link? i'd love to shove it into my mp3player.
Btw, something we talked among fellow sceners recently:
Have you considered changing the vote range from 0-5 to 0-10?
The thing is, parties like Revision (or i.e. X) have many great prods. Sometimes it is really hard to make your votes reflect the actual quality differencies, especially between the top ones.
One example (heard from X participants): there were >20 demos in demo compo. When you think that the demo that was just shown is the final and best one (and you give it a 5 in live voting) - there comes another, even better. And then you finish your voting with 8 prods rated 5.
Revision has such compos too.
