zx spectrum TV

Buy a spare SCART cable somewhere and wire a Speccy composite output through it and you can use pretty much any modern TV. Google around, these hardware mods are super easy to do and you can use pretty much any modern TV.

yyyyep will do, thanks for the advice.... I got a mercury RF modulator with RCA (sorry not RGB) cable to a USB PC capture socket but it's not working for some reason? I think the hardware solution is going to be the best solution as mentioned...many thanks for the advice on that..

Surely that RF modulator is the opposite of what you want? From the description, it's for connecting SCART/composite signal sources to crappy old TVs that only have RF inputs.

I think this is probably the easiest/best solution for you right now:
All in one solution to display ZX Spectrum on any PC

sorry ;)

Are you sure it's designed to work that way round, or are you just looking at the sockets on it and jumping to conclusions? Certainly none of the descriptions on ebay mention the ability to do that.

Btw, if this is a grey 128 2+ we're talking about, they are all broken from the factory. A bunch of transistors are wrong way around on the board. Since that doesn't cause problems with the RF signal, hardly anyone noticed back then..

it says the scart is a loup through which I assumed means it loops everything and adds the converted rf signal to the RCA pins
