What you're doing by not contacting him is hesitating, exactly what he said not to do! And it does say for "any enquiries" as well so what's the worst that could happen...? If you don't get an answer or he tells you he doesn't want to talk you aren't any worse off for knowing that.
A word of warning though, there's an old saying "never meet your heroes" and it might be that "special kind of excellence" is more in your mind than his...

Being a fan or otherwise would require that i was aware of his works... check the release history, i'm an 8-bit bunny with a smattering of 16-bit, i've never really been interested in chrrent generation hardware demos personally and don't have anywhere near the horseposer to run them even if i were!
i'm just offering general advice based, in part, on personal experience... and you've taken what i said out of context, i only stated that it might be the case and to keep it in mind.
Also, i can't feckin' type straight today it seems; "current generation" for crying out loud...!
