what's wrong with the current concept that e.g. sceners arrive 1 day earlier and booze somewhere inside Saarbrucken in bars, hotel rooms, brothels and what not.. good for the local economy too and if you insist on an extra day of socializing, it's possible that way without asking more from the party and organisation.

Actually one of the main ideas behind this is to give organizers some time to actually enjoy the party a bit more instead of just working around the clock and then having to do "compressed partying". Obviously it comes with some drawbacks as pointed out by people already. That's the reason we want a bit of feedback from the visitors to see if it's even worth thinking about.

How many 4-day parties are there aside from Revision?

I reconsidered the 5 days party seemed and seems hilarious idea to me (the party animal), I realize nao, that this will anyway be too much. 1- that will mean sleeping on the party place one night more - as I sleeping on party place after a while it becomes harder.

2-

it will mean also one day of expensive life - additional costs of food / drinking which are higher to me than regular costs which i have daily. This also may mean I will have to take more food with me (it is cheaper)- bigger bags troubles etc.

3-

This will mean also lot of needs for ideas of entertainment for the spare time. As you can see, there was sometimes a problem with filling the time with interesting content, and significant example was jazz in da Revision because that concert which was delayed and prolonged for another 30 mins? was absolute fail. I (and many) would rather enjoy the 1 hour long playlist of oldschool MODs or a karaoke hour than some squeaky jazz vibes which absolutely dont correspond with scene climate and was fail. It suceeds to put people to beds only. Many people were in zZZ mode during the PC demo compo.

In brief: two short parties r better than 1 extremely long

Gargaj: TG is 5-day.

And Solskogen is 4-day if you count the early arrival day.

If an additional day I would suggest monday. So that even after the last demo compo you are not "thrown out" into the real life (with the mandatory depression phase) to harshly end it but the party chills out for one day, so actually tuesday morning is closing time. And its probably easier for the organizers because over monday a lot of people are leaving, so the night monday to tuesday they dont have to care for so much people at the partyplace - maybe even can begin removing stuff to prepare for the full tear down the next day.

Flashy is right, sadly. This is also the case when viewing from the UK too, so the block happens outside Germany :( Shame, as it was a fantastic concert. Fortunately I was there, so I do remember it fairly well ;)

Would be good to know if it's running for an additional day before buying flights, which I shall be doing fairly soon to keep the cost down!

But if even it will be till Monday then those who traveled by buses from foreign countries still need to return in Tuesday as well coz during Monday their buses have no courses. I do not know if that applies to the planes, probably not.

My point is, I would not probably attend to a 5 days event, basically due to family & work commitments. In my particular case, I prefer to pay a little more just to get more organizers.

For me, the situation having 1 day more is not a good choice: in my place vacation days are the same the Revision takes place, so I can fly and take the shuttle buses to enjoy the full party. Coming one day after or leaving one day before without shuttle buses is a mess for me. Also, having to decide which day I'll not attend to the party will be quite difficult if compos get spread including this new day.
