Any help with sorting the existing prods is appreciated. You know where to go.

TS-Conf is not a ZX Spectrum clone. It uses Pentagon subset just because the author couldn't make the firmware from scratch, and because it helps him advertise himself. This virtual hardware can't be made on real 74xxs nor attached to any kind of ZX Spectrum, neither English nor Russian (well, with sticky tape it can, and Amiga can too).
bonefish, no problemo, if someone still need it.

hm, i'm still seeing the [3] icon for zx enhanced. will give it some time to refresh/update, and if not, your "k_zx_enhanced.png" will go into fix me beautiful.

but runs on the same Z80 instruction set

A kinda legal gap: MSX, Gameboy (almost), V6Z80P run on the same Z80. I would rather say: are partly compatible with the rubber monster and use ZX architecture as a basic one.

What is the difference between your half-stolen firmware and V6Z80P? Just in your ability in speaking many languages and persuading the people?
God, I am so happy that it has been finally done.

Alone Coder. TS-Conf an already proven viable architecture. It is supported by developers. It has prods. It wins spectators' votes (8.62 out of 10 by 350+ voters, hate). It is based upon open source platform of NedoPC (yours) group which encouraged using its sources for development. What the hell do you want from me? Stop being a jerk and just accept others' success, a part of which you resigned to be conciously.

btw, what is "half-stolen"? Definitely category "ZX Spectrum Half-stolen" must be added!
Also, "ATM not a Spectrum" and "NedoPC liars!" too.

ZX Spectrum remains the platform for demos on the stock ZX that run on the original unmodified rubbery monster

I think, that we should also put an original 128k there.

My definition isn't particularly accurate, but do assume good faith :)

In my opinion, all old-school clones are spectrum's. Designed in 1993 or older. New generation Altera-based and so on are not.

@screw, why 1993, not 92 or 91? Just to put ATM there?

Where does 1993 come from? Sound pretty arbitrary to me. Why not 1990, so that at least the decade is the same?

sigh...

We all know where the dividing line between ZX Spectrum and ZX Enhanced is, even if we can't define it formally.

Anyone who argues "oh but what about demos that require a disk drive" or "the Pentagon is an enhanced Spectrum because it has 70001 t-states per frame instead of 70000" or "the 128K Spectrum is not an original Spectrum" is just trolling to make a point.

It seems to me that we are even farther from finishing the wrangling now...

1993 came from DiHalt rules, and it comes from the fact that after 1993 all the home machines except PC and Mac have virtually died in the market.

Everyone had his own "gold years" (to divide everything beyond it), so the commercial division is the only objective division.

so?

yet again: why exactly the 93? not 92? not 94? where is the source?

breaking news: Di:Halt begun from 1993?

Let's try and avoid magic numbers and stick to common sense: "ZX Spectrum" in this case means the original Sinclair-made 16/48/128 models.
