RIP Wlodek Black (1963-2015)
category: general [glöplog]
Just got to know from a Russian site that the old Russian ZX Spectrum scener Wlodek Black passed away early this month.
He was one of the Speccy pioneers in Russia, who got to know about the Spectrum from Polish exchange students in 1987 (who gave him his nickname), programmed one of the first Russian Speccy games in 1989, and was one of the organisers of the Funtop 1998 demoparties.
I didn't have the chance to get to know him personally - I found out about him and his fascinating story only recently and planned to do an interview with him for my project. Unfortunately, now it's too late.
Some info on him (in Russian): http://speccy.info/Wlodek_Black

Obituary on VBI's blog (in Russian): http://hype.retroscene.org/blog/events/224.html#comment5932

...мир праху твоему.
Met him in '97 or perhaps 2000, such a nice, kind guy and a big activist of Moscow's ZXNet.
RIP брат.
