Outline 2015 - May 14th - 17th - Willemsoord, The Netherlands
category: parties [glöplog]
This really looks like a cozy event, but why do some of those pictures look like they were taken in the 80ies ?
@CONS No idea :-O
did metoikos make it to the partyplace?
She did :)
Thanks for great party organizers and participants! The weather was way better than expected which was lovely as well! And the new venue worked out as well imo.
any results?
Yes, Poobrain won the demo Compo!!!! \o/
We just got back to Denmark, after sitting many hours in "STAU". Germans, please fix your goddamn roads ;)
I just want to say thanks to the organizers and the amazing people we saw and met there for an awesome party, we had the best time, and are deffo coming back next year :)
And congratz to you guys at Poo-Brain with the win, I laughed so hard, thanks for that :D

Just got back from France (thanks for the car ride Fra). Met an unbelievable great number of awesome people. Thanks to the organizers for setting up this event.
same here, back to france (surprisingly), super party, nice people, enjoyed the sun, the beer, the compo team top notch work :)
Made it back earlier today. This was my best sofascening experience ever! ;)
Awh, that looks like fun! I had an awesome weekend as well, it was just 100km away, on the other side of the Ijselmeer (this big pile of water we have here in .nl). Looking forward to next year! Any partyreports?
Back home again, and I can only repeat what I said (if not wrote) about last year's Outline: Best party of the year, going by feelgood factor <3 Both Outlines so far felt primarily like a huge family meetup and only secondarily like a computer-related event: "Like camping with friends and family, and oh yeah, there's demos and art and shit."
My personal notable pros and cons:
+ The timetable worked pretty well this time; no unexpected reschedules or hush-hush compos.
+ The HUGE field outside that was well tended to and allowed for multiple different games to be played in parallel.
+ Both dinner buffets were delicious!
- I preferred the smaller, more numerous, sleeping rooms of last year's location. The large sleeping halls accumulate a lot of animal smell and snoring cacophony.
- The beds were of the saggy kind that ruins my back and shoulders within two nights; I remember last year's beds being better in that respect, but my back's being pretty picky about beds lately, so I may not be representative here.
+ The toilets -- they stayed surprisingly (to me) clean throughout the event, including the floor (modulo one puke stain, but eh, it happens). I've seen much worse, so I thought this worth mentioning.
I call bullshit ;) Srsly, the sofae were a great detail!

We have no incentive to cater to Sofasceners

What a PAARDy! \o/
I liked how well the transition to a new place worked out, it felt like the party took place there a couple of times already.
Looking forward to the scenesat review ;)
BTW, moqui actually DID cater the sofasceners withthe little warm greeting from the scene kittchen ;D

Slowly recovering now.. Sorry I didn't get to say goodbye to most, I tried to get home after waking up as soon as possible, racing against an impending hangover ^^;
Best outline for me so far! (: The new location is really nice. Although the hall space isn't really any bigger, it was the right size, and the outdoor area is definitely a huge improvement. So much room for activities.
It was great to play a massive D&B set for you all on thursday, despite some minor glitches in the form of needle skips (shit happens)... watching people dance to my Newschool Music entry (and having it win even!) was also amazing to see, and I couldn't help but join in on the jumping around ^^
All the other liveacts were pretty damn great too, though maybe there were a bit *too* many. Maybe it feels that way because the weather on saturday didn't quite allow for musical acts outside.
The few impromptu jam sessions were really fun too (:
The food situation was great, though the way the food was arranged on saturday (in one long row) was a bit better than friday, but hey. (: The quality was really good and there was plenty stuff to eat even for a super picky eater like myself.
Sleeping areas were ok. No real complaints about the facility there. As said before, the smaller rooms in previous were maybe a bit nicer, but having to drag an air mattress and find space to put it is more annoying, really. I think the only annoying thing was some people (both late at night and in the morning/early afternoon) that didn't quite whisper... although admittedly there was a hilarious monologue about missing shoes that needed to be retrieved.
Lots of good times catching up with people, having chats, drinks, hugs & kisses, and all that good stuff. All I can hope is that I didn't piss anyone off or violated any potential codes of conduct ^^

Epic. Many stories.
I love you all.
I love you all.
the weather was a lot more forgiving than the forecasts made it seem (as my lobsterized body showed), so i spent really most of the whole 4 days outside. the size of the hall is OK for exactly the amount of ppl that were there, a few more and it would've been too crammed. perhaps a slightly different table layout next time (or whatever) might improve the dancing/compo viewing spaces. partywise, it was great fun! *hugs to orgas and the visitors i hung around with*
I already noticed the table layout wasn't optimal for this amount of people. Luckily the weather was good but we had a really crammed space with people sitting on both sides of the tables. Well, the real party is outside anyway right, so no biggie! :D
Yeah, the tables got packed pretty quickly. When we arrived at 22:00 on Thursday, it already looked like it would be impossible to find a free seat. Luckily it wasn't the case, but it was quite packed nevertheless.
Anyway... great party, great people, horrible trip to the party place thanks to a broken car. :) The food was quite good too, too bad that we had to miss the hapkar on Thursday thanks to aforementioned car.
The weather was indeed better than expected, and the outdoor area was really nice to make use of the weather. This was probably the strongest point of the new venue. On the other hand, the absolutely freezingly cold bedrooms certainly weren't, and so were the freezing showers (3 out of 3 times I didn't get any warm water out of them) - I know this is nothing you can do about, but it felt like quite a downer. In case you want to return to the same place next year, maybe it would be worth talking to the owners what can be improved about that. Given that not even all the beds were taken, I suppose the place is supposed to handle even slightly larger groups of people so how the hell can they run out of hot water so quickly?
Anyway, I'll be glad to return to Outline next year! :)

Oh, and regarding the beds, I'm not quite sure what kind of midgets they were made for but I imagine havoc had even bigger trouble fitting into them than I already did!
Even from a remote distance, there seemed to be a lot of fun before and at the party. Thanks to "fra" for the dozens of photos, and thanks to Ramon for providing instant videos of the compos =)
: Because it is my special fate to get my remote entries fucked up repeatedly, i was concerned a lot and tried to prepare everything as much as possible. To my great surprise i was offered the possibility to have remote access to the compo machine for configuring and testing myself via "team viewer". Thanks to the orga and Ramon for that! Every orga team should consider this an option for later parties =)
: Seems i can't escape my special fate. After testing and configuring, i could convince myself manyfolds that everything was perfect. Visual effects, music, execution speed. All there was left for the orga was to execute my entries. For reasons i don't know - and at this point i don't want to know anymore - they changed everything last minute and my entries were shown fucked up and/or without sound.
Well shit happens, i guess. So let me at least show you, what you were supposed to see and hear in the right way:
