Rebb : actually it's not a quad coil but rather 4 kanthal strings twisted together, forming a bigger string that is used in a single-coil setup.
The cool thing with such a coil is that it also serves as a wick and heats the liquid from its inside - so it does actually feel like a steam machine too :D

Actually I sometimes find it a tad dangerous to use while driving, because if I blow a bit too much smoke straight towards the windscreen it _really_ obscures my view...

My current setup is :
Vertex 18650 mechanical mod (original) by The Boss Mod
--> using efest V2 18650 35A (more or less) button top batteries

Tesla DII RDA
--> 3 strands of 0.3mm Kanthal A1 twisted one way then twisted the other way with 1 strand of 0.5mm Kanthal A1
--> came out to 0.32ohms with 5 wraps
--> single coil with density n°2 fiber freaks and a homemade vanilla custard kind of biscuit

Russian 91% RTA
--> simple coil made of 0.5mm Kanthal A1, 5 wraps
--> wicked with some cotton bacon
--> ejuice is currently a homemade mix of watermelon, strawberry and coconut

I also have a few attys that I don't use on a daily basis, these are : Fogger V5 RTA, Caterpillar RDA and finally X-Pure RDA

Forgot to mention I also own a Fury-S mech mod, but I don't use it anymore (bottom button is not working properly anymore)

Rebb: I meant the carbon monoxide kick that made you feel like you've been hit by a steam roller when you lit up your first smoke in the morning. I don't really miss it. I deliberately didn't say "Flash" since that's what the e-zigarette community apparently likes to call that "throat-hit" you described (which works pretty well).

Sth I learnt today:

My favourite e-liquid supplier sent me a liquorize flavoured liquid (.de) for testing.

I never would have bought it myself since I am not a huge fan of liquorize (mainly knew it from sweets).

But -- it works / tastes really good in e-cigarettes !

I did a little bit of research and according to wikipedia "63% of [its] liquorice product sales [] are to to the worldwide tobacco industry".

You may want to give it a try.

i got an iStick 30, its good!
using the joyetech ego ONE subohm head right now but i think i like those with a little more resistance better... if anyone has good ideas for additional vaporheads to use, go ahead =)

happy non-smoker since 3.1. after 20 yrs of constant 1/2 to 1 pack of filters a day.

currently still vaping eGo G2H2S dual coil 2.0 ohms and also happy with istick

why: was *very* afraid of smoker's leg/Thromboangiitis obliterans - not so much lung cancer, since i got a little fearless after my sarkoidosis in 2005 (löfgren, all turned out good)

withdrawal symptoms 3-5 days. all critical situations successfully replaced with vaping. (vape while driving, take a break from desktop work, after dinner etc.). automatic behaviour can very successfully be re-programmed to the vaping process.

fear of shortage: was easily put aside. the devices are cheap, i own several eGo accu sticks and aforementioned iStick. i have backup liquid and coils with me all the time. dosage and usage are way better controllable than tobacco.
plus: after 5 weeks i had the first situation where i *wanted* to vape but somehow *couldnt*. it is pretty easy to postpone the desire like 1 hour or so. no freaking out like if you have no cigarette - because there is no more withdrawal effect!

liquids: started with dekang tobacco substitute tastes (11mg/10ml) and now step by step i expand into various flavour mixes to keep the excitement going.

next step will be to switch to more professional vaping setup to catch up with my buddies: one of them has a setup with an 'erlkönigin' sub-ohm something - wow. that was super low nicotine and very nice flash.

talking of flash: the only liquid that gives me a real nicotine flash right now is called hypnotic by damfastore.de (12mg/10ml) and i can only mix it half/half with some other liquid i prefer because the buzz is so strong (like stuff gets shaky :-D )

i am really full of hope this is the *thing* and i am looking forward to reducing my nicotine!

I updated my vaping rig recently:

Mostly vaping 100% VG (3mg nic) in RDA's @ 40-50W ..
- dual coil nichrome, triple braided 30g, 0.33 ohm) (mutation X v2)
- single coil nichrome, 20g, 0.4 ohm (mutation XL)
- single coil 28g ni200, 0.15 @ temperature 220C (mutation X v3)

When tasting new juices, I try them @ 80W.

ejuice: fruity flavours only. (favs: apple, melon, fig, lime)

Finally arrived at Subohm Vaping beginners Level.

Kanger Tech Subox Starter Kit (90€) is *the* shit for advanced Beginners (need quite some info on how stuff actually works).

9 Months Smoke free, down to 3mg Nicotine.

Mainly Vaping Germanliquids now.

Because i sort of promoted it, i feel the need to point at these serious problems of the subox.

(Wrong wattage output/display leading to frequent burning of the wick)

Since soon a year ago, haven't smoked a single cigarette after switching to vaping, after ~27 years with ciggies. Don't have any fancy "setups", just 75W Eleaf iStick Pico, Smok Baby Beast tank and juices i mix my own from vg/pg base with 3mg nicotine. That reminds me, where to get nicotine in Finland at the moment?
