Happy 30th Anniversary Red Sector Inc. !
category: general [glöplog]
Whether you call us RSI, rsi, RSi, Red Sector Inc. or just Red Sector, we're celebrating its creation 30 years ago this year. It's been a very non-linear ride but with others such as Alpha Flight (congrats), we somehow made it through up to here. Lots of friends, members and contacts either left the scene, left the group, changed nicks or just passed away. It would be lying to say there are overwhelming reasons to be optimistic about the future of the scene in general but as many of you already practice day-to-day we thrive to see the glass half full instead of half empty. All in all we will try to make quality productions this special year as last year but in the meantime we will open a guestbook and hoping you could maybe contribute some kind words to it either in this thread or through our contact tab on the group's homepage.
Red Sector Number One... But you are the real number ones in our book sceners for keeping the dream alive!

Congrats for staying active for 30 years now...
Good luck for the next 30 :-)
Good luck for the next 30 :-)
First demo I ever saw on the Amiga 500 was the classic Red Sector Megademo at the local computer club meeting, where CiH and I met for the first time. Congratulations on the anniversary though :)
@sensenstahl : maybe...Who knows ? ;)
@ham @Whizart & @Felice : thanks a lot !

Sorry to crash your party, but http://www.pouet.net/topic.php?which=9995&page=1#c478439.
luckily most of us don't give a hoot about (t)rsi turning 30 nor their juvenile member politics.
^^ biiiiiiiiig whooooop
Oldschool RSi prods kick ass.
Modern RSi prods kick more ass.
TRSi prods also kick lots of ass.
Scenepolitics are irrelevant & kind of boring.
Congrats to members of both groups on 30 years of scene involvement - one way or the other. I'm not much older than 30 myself. :p
What *is* the oldest continuously active group anyway?

Depends. Oldest label still in use to tag releases with or actual group with active founding members? :P
Oh! dipswitchs has birthday this year, too!
Doesn't everyone have a birthday every year? (Except those born on February 29th.)
Lol
is "scenepolitics" a hobby for the overweight on disability?
Merry birthdays to Red Sector.
It's so strange why you didn't celebrate 20th in 2005 or 10th in 1995, as an original member and all, though.

Did this thread derail yet?
@moqui: NOT YET!
I don't know what is exactly the oldest -still- active demogroup but Razor 1911 will turn 30 at end of the year, and Fairlight will turn 30 during the next year.

All these groups are older than me!
errr.... active as in... mostly the same members? :)
byterapers? :)
dont gimme the rzr or flt crap. the currently 'active' ones weren't active there 30 years ago. that's just label-refurbishing by people who think ppl actually fucking care (apart from themselves). (and been there, done that when i thought that would matter :P)

Well put. Old labels are fun and have value, but only if carried forward in a respectful manner.
happy birthday rsi! not only I like the new rsi prods, but I also like baudsaufers way of rebellion against the sceptics.
and @dipswitch and @reed who try to do scene politics: stfu. this is irrelevant and boring indeed.
