The demoscene aint about getting everything served on a silver plate

go figure. and comeback when you know what i mean.
i know what you mean.. its about pure magic.
*fart*
killing the demoscene since 2000!
I'm so glad I started coding back in 1997, when there were nearly no textfiles on how to do just about anything. (*)

internet tutorials arent that bad. youngs from the 90s are lazier than youngs from the 80s : /
I'll make a demo about it Quisten, with werkzeug :')
if you dont like something - then dont use it. easy as it.
Who said i dont like werkzeug and those other tools? Actually, this started when Adok menetioned that kb should write a complete tutorial on how to make a V2 alike tool, and tutorials on how to make tools. Werkzug , addict, V2 and that shit is good shit. I`ll bet they are demanding to learn, and it would take time to use those tools to their full potensial. I respect people who want to learn those tools for fun. Go ahead, but lame editors, dont request shortcuts. No smart kid would write a tool after a tutorial. Thats not fun. You`ll need an idea or an method to do it better yourself.
Quisten: word.
There are already shitloads of tutorials about almost everything all over the net.
What would have those people said 15 years ago, when there were no websites, almost no resources about code, 3d, etc, no tutorials but only boring low-level documentations and specs?
Be content with what you have and what people such as KB bring you nowadays instead of always requesting more and having everything served on a silver plate as Quisten said.
And yes, you can also try to create things on your own, not everything is about docs and tutorials. A little bit of creativity and reflection won't hurt you...

emphasize!!!
jazzercise!!!
I shall refrain from posting pictures of Mister T.
what?? When I learned about assembler on the c64 back around 1988 it was loads of information about coding. On bbs's I learned a shit load of things like making tech-tech's and such. Even back then music creators saved a patch of code which played your song so music code wasn't even hardcoded back then (ok, some people always likes too make everything form scratch! ;-) ).
And in what way does using V2 and kb's player differ from using Fmod or BASS in a demo (or even an xm file and minifmod)?? Is there also considered killing the demoscene by using jpeg librarys or tools like upx?
Things change, why is that always a bad thing? Perhaps people are lazy and use bad code which they glued from the internet but people did that 15 years ago aswell. With things like the Final Cartridge III and Action Replay cut'n'paste coders had a glorious time. Old coders isn't the same as good coders! ;-D
Ok, sorry for ranting. I'll try to keep my mouth shut...

ekoli: come on, there are MUCH MORE docs, tutorials and means to access them nowadays than there were 15 years ago.
That's why I don't understand people (such as Adok) bitching because they aren't provided with enough materials/tutorials and stuff nowadays...

To be serious for a few microseconds, keops you make perfectly valid points.
...We now resume to your regularly scheduled pouetized deadhorse discussion.

keops: Yeah sure that's right. I just got carried away. :-) Perhaps my problem is that I don't read that many tutorials because I like a little bit of trial and error learning. :-)
And with tutorials like kb has made on kebby.org even Adok would be able too make his own synth! :-)

You have no idea... :)
there are even tutorials on how to write a good tutorial!

We could write a tutorial for some people how to discuss at pouet! ;-)
15 years ago coders were swapping sources

Alright, but make sure you don't get mad at people who follow your advise mate.

well say only 12 years ago we hadn't have a phone line (central europe rulz :), so even bbs' were out of reach. the standard method of communication was snailmail swapping. and there were not too much tutorials...
